About this listen
Poverty isn’t just a lack of resources. Often even after resources are available, poverty lingers. Why is that? And can anything be done to help?
The problem is bigger than a lack of resources, wealth, or education. A lie of hopelessness is holding people captive, preventing them from moving forward, and perpetuating global poverty.
It might feel hopeless, but it’s not. You can make a meaningful difference once you understand the missing piece you can offer.
From rural Nicaraguan towns to large American cities, business and church leader James Belt is transforming impoverished communities through practical opportunities for growth and the spiritual hope found in Jesus. Full of inspiration and actionable steps for every Christian who wants their own contributions to make a significant difference, this guide will help you create “all-in” hope that can change lives and end poverty.
You’ll discover:
- A new perspective on why economic inequality exists—and how to go beyond traditional missionary and volunteer work to end it.
- True stories of the hopelessness ensnaring the poor in self-perpetuating pockets of intergenerational poverty, homelessness, and underprivilege.
- The incredible power of practical and spiritual hope to overcome poverty whether in your city or across the world.
- Inspiring Bible passages to help you transform your own faith and privilege into hope and identity for others.
- Practical outreach and community project ideas that will empower people to fulfill their God-given potential.
We need more than surface-level hope to create impactful change. Get Hope Realized and start fighting the lie of hopelessness and poverty with all-in hope.

Story
We each have a destiny. Finding the courage to drive past the challenges, the pains, and even the shortcuts of life to the deeper purpose of living is to thrive in one's divine destiny. Most people have sensed destiny pulling them to just the right place or person. Whether it is the spouse you meet, the children you bear, or the promotion you receive, everyone has a purpose to pursue. Sometimes it is understanding our destiny that helps us accept what on the surface appears to be failure.

We all have a longing to be significant. We want to make a contribution, to be a part of something noble and purposeful. But many people wrongly believe significance is unattainable. They worry that it's too big for them to achieve. That they have to have an amazing idea, be a certain age, have a lot of money, or be powerful or famous to make a real difference. The good news is that none of those things is necessary for you to achieve significance and create a lasting legacy.

For that, you need aspiration — an almost otherworldly desire to achieve something high or great.

Story
There are four characters in every story: the victim, the villain, the hero, and the guide. These four characters live inside us. If we play the victim, we’re doomed to fail. If we play the villain, we will not create genuine bonds. But if we play the hero or guide, our lives will flourish. The hard part is being self-aware enough to know which character we are playing. In this book, Donald will use his own experiences to help you recognize if the character you are currently surfacing is helping you experience a life of meaning.

Wisdom without passion is a Ferrari with no gas in the tank. Passion without wisdom is a tricked-out 57 Chevy with no steering wheel. Baby Boomers have relied on wisdom to pave the way to success. Education, knowledge, investing strategies, 401(k)s, real estate leverage, and carefully contrived career paths were expected to lead to success in the golden years. Seeing the overall failure of that formulaic approach to life, younger generations today have relied on passion as the guiding principle for their version of success.

Story
We have hundreds of "friends" through online social networking, but we often don't even know the full name of the person who lives right next door. This unique and inspiring book asks the question: What is the most loving thing I can do for the people who live on my street or in my apartment building? Through compelling true stories of lives impacted, the authors explain how to create genuine friendships with the people who live in closest proximity to us.

Story
Many people today talk about justice, but are they living justly? They want to change the world, but are they being changed themselves? Eugene Cho has a confession: "I like to talk about changing the world but I don't really like to do what it takes." If this is true of the man who founded the One Day's Wages global antipoverty movement, then what must it take to act on one's ideals? Cho does not doubt the sincerity of those who want to change the world.

Good message. Difficult to listen too
The story was ok. Chapter 7 wasn’t necessary.
I would recommend reading instead of an audio book. The reader is the written. The reading still is robotic. I could get past chapter 8 because of narration
