If you're even remotely thinking of having a horse, this is book is a must! The author clearly explains everything you need to know, from types of breeds, horse care, training, feeding, equipment, barns, and so much more! My younger sister has had horses her whole life and competes on the the weekends. Now that I'm widowed, I'm thinking of having a horse of my own, so this book really helped me understand what horse ownership and care is all about. I highly recommend!

A thorough and informative book. My neice and I listened to this book over the holiday break and we both adored it because little did she know, her parents (my sister) was giving her riding lessons as part of her xmas gift. She was over the moon about this book and kept saying how she wished she could spend more time with horses to use all her new skills. Such a fun bonding experience for us.

I have wanted a horse for a long time and even though I"m not ready to purchase quite yet, this book will be an invaluable resource when I'm ready. Its comprehensive guide, from handling to first aid, simplified the process for me and made it feel less overwhelming and more attainable. Every chapter of this book is necessary for horse owners, but the first two chapters I think are the most important because the expense of owning the wrong horse can ruin the experience. ( I have lots of family members that own horses). These two chapters guide you on which type of horse that is right for you and what to look for and avoid during the purchase process. This book will safe you time, money, and heartache! Highly recommended for anyone dreaming of horse ownership.

My family and I have been thinking about getting a horse and this was my first stop in my research process. This book is truly all-encompassing, and cover all the bases of what one needs to consider when getting a horse. I particularly liked the thorough section about breed selection, as I know very little about the differences between breeds. This is proving very helpful for determining which breed might be right for my family. Can't recommend this book enough.

I can't recommend this audiobook enough! Daniel Hart's passion for horses is evident in every page of the book, and he provides so much valuable information on proper horse care it is just incredible.

One thing that really surprised me was how much work goes into caring for the pasture that the horse grazes on. I had no idea that it was almost as much work as tending to the horse itself! But thanks to this book, I now have a much better understanding of what it takes to properly care for a horse and their pasture.

After listening to this audiobook, I'm even more excited about the prospect of owning a horse. But I also realize that it's a big commitment, and I appreciate Hart's honesty about the amount of work involved. He got me into the right mindset to understand exactly what I would be getting into if I were to purchase a horse.

Finally, I have to give a shoutout to the narrator of this audiobook. They did a fantastic job and were an absolute pleasure to listen to. Overall, I would highly recommend this audiobook to anyone interested in buying a horse, or just curious in what it would take to own a horse. It's a perfect guide for anyone looking to learn more about caring for horses.
