Publisher's summary

A thousand years ago, something evil made a bold attempt to cross into this world. Now it's ready to try again. She's eternally young, lovely, and lethal. Her cry for help is heard by a teenage boy in Bermuda. A confused orphan in Montreal. A political prisoner in Poland. A raging paraplegic on the Pacific coast. And a bloodthirsty psychopath in New York City. Each of them is lost, confused, alone. Too weak to resist her siren call.

They come cutting a path of carnage across the globe. And at last they meet. In a lonely mountain mansion. A place of unutterable evil. A place they are never meant to leave.

A little difficult to follow …

I found this one a bit difficult to follow. Although it was a perfectly fine haunted house story and had more splatter and gore than most haunted house stories. This was a plus for me. I would recommend this book to fans of 1980’s horror. Not my favorite but still an enjoyable read. I would say the story is 3 1/2 stars and the performance was well done.

good

A variety of short creepy stories connecting in strange ways to each other. Interesting. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job bringing it to creepy life.

Creep factor was more from the narrator

I love all things horror. Growing up, my parents let me watch horror movies. I can take it all. This book was creepy, but it was the narrator's voice. He sounded bored or like he was trying to down play the topic. I'm not looking for a Vincent Price voice, but at least try to sound alive and not like a ghost.

Twist and turns

This book starts off slow but picks up into a sadistic satisfying ending. You need to keep up with the characters because they all have their mini stories to tell that end up doing major twist and turns into one story. It was not as scary as I would have hoped but all in all it was a good book. I received this book at my request and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review here of my own volition.

couldn't get past the narration

I was given this book for free from audiobook boom and asked to leave an unbiased review for the author and narrator.
Maybe it was just my computer that I was listening to the book on but the narrator’s voice, although soothing and pleasant, was a bit too soothing. I could definitely fall asleep listening to his voice, as in he was putting me to sleep listening to him. I couldn’t keep listening and stopped after about 30 minutes because it was so boring and I couldn’t really pay attention to the story, so it may be a great book I just couldn’t get into it because the narration was so boring.
