This is the best book on fasting and one of the best books on prayer that I have ever read. I highly recommend this book. Piper does a fantastic job showing, from the Scriptures, how humans are called to use everything at their disposal to hunger after God. Fasting is not deprivation, but is instead one of the greatest means God uses to fill us with himself.

Reading is a little fast, but woth some rewinds I was good. Amazing book. 100% recommend for people wanting to cultivate a hunger for God and His glory with excellent insight on fasting.

Great concepts and understanding of fasting and prayer when linked with the hunger for God. Fantastic read, especially for Lenten season. Helped deepen understanding of why Christian fasting at all and what is being done by fasting.

it might just be what I was looking for was in the last chapter but all the other chapters were thorough and insightful

With fasting being such a neglected subject in the modern church, Piper does a wonderful job of practically relaying what the Bible teaches about this spiritual disciple. For anyone curious about delving into this lost art of the Christian faith, this book is a must read!
