Story was a bit weak

Take a little more time and develop the story before taking these giant leaps to get the conclusions. Narrator was good, but I think if there is a little more depth in the next book it could be good.

Action-packed new series.

I recently read Hunting the Mirror Man and really enjoyed it, I’ve included my original review after this introduction based on listening to the review copy of the audio book I received from the publisher. Listening to Jonathan Beville’s narration held me spellbound, his ability to bring all the characters to life through a variety of voices made it much mor an experience than had he just read it.

This first installment in the new Sterling Gray series by Brian Shea and Ty Hutchinson is an action-packed roller-coaster ride. It was interesting to see how the authors developed Sterling’s backstory as they moved the serial killer story along in an unpredictable fashion. While Sterling is an accomplished Profiler, he has the unenviable tendency to get on the wrong side of his FBI Supervisor, not to mention tank his personal life. If this book is any predictor of this series, I’m looking forward to the next episode to see how Sterling succeeds or not in the previously mentioned areas. I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and chose to provide my review.

If Brian Shea had a hand in writing it…

… I’m going to read it!!
I really like Brian Shea. I have everything he’s written in my library including his two series (Boston Crime Thriller and Nick Lawrence series) as well as the Rachel Hatch series that he coauthors with L T Ryan.
My heart was in my throat. Somewhere around chapter 17 one almost victim runs out of the killers house just as the police and FBI Agent Sterling Gray pull into his driveway. But this is only the beginning. Soon after similar murders begin taking place in the UK. Again a victim gets away. Unfortunately the killer gets away also. DNA tests have startling results…
This book has a good bit of predictability but I didn’t feel like that took away from it’s entertainment value.
Jonathan Beville does an exceptional job narrating.
This book is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Someone make this into a movie!!!

This book has movie written all over it. Two serial killers in two countries with the same MO, and an international team of investigators trying to stop them before the next body is found! This book balances action, investigation, and character development very well. The narrator does a great job bringing the characters to life, and boy does he have range! I listened to this book after listening to another book read by the same narrator, and the characters are totally unique and lifelike! This is the first in the series, and I'm excited to start the next one right away! Couldn't put this one down.

No Audible. I did not enjoy this book.

SEXIST
RIDICULOUS PLOT
UNREALISTIC WITH NOTHING TO PONDER
NOT IN THE LEAST BIT EXCITING
NARRATOR DRAB
I kept thinking about my grocery list as this played. In this book you will immediately be introduced to the antagonist. Grey will immediately guess some ridiculous scenario and be correct. Women will be saved (even the poor poor weak female agents) and it will end leaving you thinking about that utility bill you need to pay.
IQ 50 and above need not apply.
