I had no expectations when I bought this book. It's succeeded in blowing me away. What an amazing story. And the narration is fantastic.

Good read

The writer has captured the contrast of the naïveté and worldliness of David beautifully. I just want to keep reading.

Awesome book showing the true meaning of FREEDOM!

Such a wonderfully deep book, for a children's book. This book portrays, in such detail, the true meaning and worth of freedom. The reader is fantastic! He gets the emotion. He gets the depth.

Over and over again. Still as good.

Every listen through reveals more, you become more attuned to David, you understand his trauma, confusion, scepticism, mistrust, and naturalness.
Always a pleasure to listen to.

What a beautiful story

Loved the story, how it unfolded. I was pressed with the fact of how much we take for granted. Life is beautiful and we are blessed. God’s sovereignty was portrayed beautifully. Recommend.

Thought provoking, engaging and enjoyable

What a treat to read something with such a good underlying message but with such a well crafted storyline. It was one of those books that left me wishing for the story to continue. The author very effectively delivered glimpses into a world seen through the eyes of a child, and then added on experiences so we could share in the evolution. Really it was captivating from the beginning, and the main character (David) was wonderful company.

It’s a wonderful story about the strength of humans

I had this book when I was in grade school and loved it! I’m 69 now and was thrilled to read it again. It was just as good now as back then.

So beautiful it broke my heart

Never knew a children's story could move me to tears quite like this one did. To see the world through this special little boys eyes and to see the inner workings of his mind, pure and just.

A very interesting story

This kept my attention throughout the entire book but I must say that the ending was a bit disappointing.
