Glynn Stewart has done it again! If you enjoy steam punk, science fiction, magic and tales of the high seas, this book combines all four masterfully! I really hope this is the beginning of a new set of stories set in this universe. I really want to know what happens next.

Enjoyed the new story line as much as I have enjoyed Stewart's many previous titles. I like books that provide a fun get-away. This one meets that goal.

I don't want to give any spoilers, but suffice it to say this is a classic sci-fi story of a civilization that's not quite aware of its roots. It starts out as a naval story and slowly develops into more and more as the author unrolls the tale for the reader. The story overall is creative and made the book well worth the listen.

The narrator is talented and captures different voices well enough that I was never confused about who was speaking. I've read a half-dozen of Glynn Stewart's books now, and have come to really enjoy his style. This book is no different in that, but it's not like most of his others I've read, it has a slightly different flavor. Because of that, I was impressed with his flexibility.

The book, unlike some I've read recently, is neatly broken up into sensibly-sized and announced chapters, so you always know when the scene changes. The character development is good, but not deep, it's all about the tale and the mission. I enjoyed the story, and would recommend it to any sci-fi fan.

This author is new to me I wasn’t expecting much from ‘another space opera’ but I found this to be quite charming The story is very LGBT+ friendly, but what I liked about that was how casually the author used women as important and powerful figures. The men sort of pale in comparison with the women, but turnabout is fair play.

I live Glenn Stewart books. This one is unique. much lower tech than normal. It is very well written and gets more interesting as you listen. I highly recommend this book.

I enjoy Mr. Stewart's series so much it took a while to get around to this stand alone novel. I was richly rewarded with amazing world building and deep, memorable characters brought to life. I still think about them!

I will listen to anything Zara reads. This was also an interesting take on “other world” fiction.
