Publisher's summary

Could “UFOs” and “aliens” simply be us, but from the future? This provocative new audiobook cautiously examines the premise that extraterrestrials may instead be our distant human descendants, using the anthropological tool of time travel to visit and study us in their own hominin evolutionary past.

Dr. Michael P. Masters, a professor of biological anthropology specializing in human evolutionary anatomy, archaeology, and biomedicine, explores how the persistence of long-term biological and cultural trends in human evolution may ultimately result in us becoming the ones piloting these disc-shaped craft, which are likely the very devices that allow our future progeny to venture backward across the landscape of time. Moreover, these extratempestrials are ubiquitously described as bipedal, large-brained, hairless, human-like beings who communicate with us in our own languages and who possess technology advanced beyond, but clearly built upon, our own.

These accounts, coupled with a thorough understanding of the past and modern human condition, point to the continuation of established biological and cultural trends here on Earth, long into the distant human future.

the likelihood that the past present and future are predestined.

this is an awesome read! my interest in time travel and what if those that eledgedly visiting as what we are calling alien are really us from the future appear to be plausible according to Dr. Masters.

Answers a ton of UFO and other questions for me!

Excellent theory on what UFOs are and the source of where they come from. Not travelers through distance...but through time.

this book is over-the-top informative

all I can say as you must listen to it a couple times to understand the four aspects of everything the author is trying to throw

A long overdue semi-scientific assessment of UFOs

Finally, a realistic evaluation of UFO phenomena, in terms of current Anthropological perspectives. All Scientific investigators should pay attention here. This is where Evolution aware Science starts to pay off in terms of assisting in the understanding of a phenomenon that is not going to conveniently disappear.

Fantastically thought provoking.

I really enjoyed this book. I was engaged the entire time and thought it was extremely thought provoking. I also learned a lot of things that really made me question my own thoughts and opinions not only on the question of aliens versus our future decendants but a few other major issues and ideas. I can't wait to listen to his next book. And probably going to have to buy a hard copy for my library.

I don’t agree with his hypothesis but it’s nonetheless explained very well.

I’m giving this book 5 stars because I believe it is well thought out and interesting. I also however don’t agree with his opinions on the subject. In my non-scientific and relatively (to the author at least) uneducated opinion, it falls victim to the regular, everyday scientific belief that we know and understand enough to disprove the existence of extraterrestrial high intelligence. If you study or follow ufology, this is not remotely uncommon. I don’t know what it is that so many people have experienced and continue to experience. I think the Drake equation, the Fermi paradox etc., has become a crutch to avoid outside the box thinking in the subject. But WTH do I know? I’m no scientist, I’m just a reader.

Two issues

I’m going to re-read Chapters 6 & 7 as I’m still having trouble with the theory that if something hasn’t happened yet, how can we traverse time to return to whenever. But interesting and thought provoking. I know time is supposedly only relative to earthlings but if future time travelers aren’t born yet - that’s where my thought problems lie. The CDT issue is mind boggling.

Great read anyway. I’m going to re-read it maybe in 2024. Too many others beckon.

Thorough very thorough.

The sub title is a hundred percent accurate. He came at the problem from as many angles as possible. Not all arguments hold water, but a serious, compelling and refreshing look at a seemingly ridiculous subject matter. Brilliant read.

Interesting take on ufology

I recommend this to anyone who enjoys learning about the UFO phenomenon. I love the term extratempestrial.
