In soundproof room, no one could hear him scream!

This first volume of a new series was better than I had expected. The main characters, David and Maggie, were personable and likable, even Anthony the vampire. Randal, the young vampire started on the wrong foot but he too turned out to be one of the good guys. I found myself rooting for the good vampires versus the bad vampires. Werewolves, in an unexpected twist, make an appearance also. The good vampires have their moral code of no young and no unnecessary killing, while the bad have no morals at all. Anthony, due to a bad experience, is reluctant to turn any more humans, which causes some tense moments at one point. Hunting the main antagonist known as The Dark Father is a central theme throughout. All-in-all it was a decent story that I enjoyed. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Very engaging

I started this series because the character, Dylan, was also in Black Fair, and I liked him enough to be curious about his backstory. By the time I got around to listening to this, I'd already forgotten his name though, so I spent the early chapters trying to remember it. However, once the story got going I was sucked right in, and soon it didn't matter whether I got the backstory I was looking for or not (I did). All of the characters were interesting, and despite the fact that I usually am not a big fan of vampire novels, I found myself loving this one, and couldn't wait to move on to the rest of the series.

Immortal Coil

This was an excellent book of how 'misfits' of society come together and form a family,of sorts. An aged vampire is afraid to turn anyone, because he once created a monsterNow he only kills those that deserve it..A woman wants to prove her worth after her daughter is murdered and she is accused of the murder. They come together now,and maybe forever.I loved this book! Nick Montague was a terrific narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review

Left Me Wanting More

I enjoyed this story. The characters all have their own struggles and demons to overcome. I'd have to say Randall and the corpse boy are my favorite characters! This is book one of a trilogy and I've already purchased book 2 on audible. I'm excited to continue the journey with this bunch of supernatural beings. The narrator was good and able to showcase each character with their own voice and personality.

I received a free copy of this audiobook and this is an honest review with my thoughts.

Really good book

I am a sucker for vampires who are good. I loved their moral codes. The main characters are actually very likeable and I loved Anthony. Cant wait to read the next 2 books.

not too bad

The story was ok, but I just couldn't get into some of it. The writing was like that of a very first book written by a very young writer. I get its a fictional supernatural story, but at least try and make it believable, a small piece of skin that "grows" into a full size child zombie, come on. The narrator wasn't too bad, but could have at least made it sound like they were into the story rather than just reading it.
