Another A+ for the Cat Connelly series

After this book its safe to say I'm going to be a fan of this series. downloaded book 3 as soon as I realized I was nearing the end! I'm an American that is very much a fan of most British/European based murder mystery books and shows. This continually ticks all the boxes.

Great narrator, good story, a few irritations

I really liked this book. The narrator was great and the story kept me interested. A few things, though, really bugged me. The author tends to over describe things, even the most mundane, "the gray string on his shirt glistened like a drop of water on a placid lake." I made that up, but it's pretty accurate. At one point, when the main character is walking down a path, it took a solid 10 minutes for her to get where she was going because of all the over-the-top descriptions and the narration of every single tiny thought in her head as she got there.

Another thing that irked me was the amount of times the name "Sarah Jane" was said. Honestly, if it were a drinking game and you had to drink whenever they said the name, everyone would be passed out after chapter 2.

Finally, the excessive and totally unnecessary detail about her boxing got me irritated. It's how I feel when someone at work tells me about their workout. Who cares? It's braggy. But, in spite of all that, I did enjoy the book.

Enjoyed for the most part

I enjoyed listening to it, the narration was really good. I did like the plot but at times it just got a little too far fetched.

Chicklit detective novel

I've tried the first two and that's enough for me. I guess I like my police procedurals or detective novels more straight up. A little romance in them goes a long way for me, and if that's the way you are, I don't recommend this series.

Soooo bad

One of the worst books I’ve read. It went on and on with no plot forming, dull characters and no end in sight. With 2 hours left boom, a story. By then I was so sick of waiting I couldn’t get into it. The ending was crap and similar in style to the previous book in the series. Don’t waste your time.
