About this listen

The world has fallen in love with Nick Gautier and Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter novels.

Now Nick's saga continues in Infamous, the next eagerly anticipated volume in the Chronicles of Nick series...

Go to school. Get good grades. Stay out of trouble. That's the mandate for most kids. But Nick Gautier isn't the average teenager. He's a boy with a destiny not even he fully understands. And his first mandate is to stay alive while everyone, even his own father, tries to kill him.

He's learned to annihilate zombies and raise the dead, divination and clairvoyance, so why is learning to drive and keep a girlfriend so dang hard? But that isn't the primary skill he has to master. Survival is.

And in order to survive, his next lesson makes all the others pale in comparison. He is on the brink of becoming either the greatest hero mankind has ever known.

Or he'll be the one who ends the world. With enemies new and old gathering forces, he will have to call on every part of himself to fight or he'll lose everyone he cares about.

Even himself.

CON...Great!

I just love Nick, he is such a dichotomy of a person. I love Sherrilyn Kenyon books she brings both humor and grief into the stories with perfect blend. This book is more for young adults, but when she brings these stories and the dark hunter stories together, I believe they will be more adult themed. Of course, you can’t miss them if you read the dark hunter series. Holter Graham is a great reader.

Narrator needs improvement

I love this book. I absolutely love the series. I own it in digital, paperback, and now on audible. That said, the narration isn't the best. It's great on male voices, but the female voices suck. Whenever the narrator does a female voice it's just horrible, and that moment takes you out of the story/book. I think if they paired the narrator with someone for the female voices that it would be amazing.

Infamous : A Chronicles of Nick book .

This series gets better and better a lot of twist and turns just when you think you now who's who's it throws you for a loop . I was getting pretty missed at Nick's mom but than it be and clear that there was a lot of miscommunication going on between Nick and his Mom . Because they didn't talk things through they both thought terrible things like for Nick he thought that his mom thought that he was no better than his father . And for Shears she thought that Nick blamed her for the bad choices that she made she thought Nick saw her as a bad parent and it made them both miserable . As for Cody well we all knew that Nick would find out about her original assignment sooner or later I just hope that Cody tells Nick th e truth and that they can sort out out .

Infamous

Where does Infamous rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I enjoy so many. Holter brings the story to life. He can make me feel the emotions the writer is trying to convey.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Infamous?

For me its the unknown with his relationship to Acheron, they have been thru alot together in the discovering of who the other is.

Fun

Where does Infamous rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's an easy comfortable listen, it does't nor should it, take itself too seriously, and the charactors are enjoyable to get to know.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Nick, of course. Ms. kenyon developes a universably likeable charactor, as well as someone most people can relate to at some level, for good or bad.

What about Holter Graham’s performance did you like?

The voices of ALL the charactors was amazing. And she really seemed to enjoy doing the wide range of voices she was called upon to read.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Nick's treatment by "adults" was often very irritating. It reminded me of my own times of being quilty by reason of age or inexperience. However Nick's very witty retorts more than made up for it.

Any additional comments?

I've listened to all three books and hope for more, either in the same serries, or similar genre.
