About this listen
Inflation is like a hornet's nest. Once the hive is rattled, it’s impossible to get the hornets back in.
This quote sums up all you need to know about inflation. Once a government realizes the benefit of increased inflation for a debt-based economy, inflation can only be hidden, transferred, or obvious. Inflation is rarely removed. Once inflation hits, it is a rapid phenomenon and there is a rush to secure inflation-proof securities. Prices of food, gas, services, and consumer goods increase faster than your salary, and your standard of living decreases over time. However, savvy investors have inflation-proofed their assets for periods of high inflation. Knowing how to measure inflation and observing the first signs of inflation is key. Investing in the right securities, secure assets, solid currencies, and good, long-term debt can help.
This book details several investment strategies to prepare for inflationary periods, rock-solid asset classes, and also has a plan for the worst-case scenario of hyperinflation. Even if you've never heard of inflation in your life, you will benefit from the knowledge in this book.

Inflation: What It Is, Why It’s Bad, and How to Fix It explains what’s behind the worst inflationary storm in more than forty years—one that is dominating the headlines and shaking Americans by their pocketbooks. The cost-of-living explosion since the COVID pandemic has raised alarms about a possible return of a 1970’s-style “Great Inflation.” Some observers even fear a descent into the kind of Weimar-style hyperinflation that has torn apart so many nations. Is this true? If so, what should be done? How should we prepare for the future?

The finance sector of Western economies is too large and attracts too many of the smartest college graduates. Financialization over the past three decades has created a structure that lacks resilience and supports absurd volumes of trading. The finance sector devotes too little attention to the search for new investment opportunities and the stewardship of existing ones, and far too much to secondary-market dealing in existing assets. Regulation has contributed more to the problems than the solutions.

Since you were old enough to hold a job, you've been hoodwinked to believe that wealth can be created by blindly trusting in the uncontrollable and unpredictable markets: the housing market, the stock market, and the job market. I call this soul-sucking, dream-stealing dogma "The Slowlane" - an impotent financial gamble that dubiously promises wealth in a wheelchair. For those who don't want a lifetime subscription to "settle-for-less", there is an alternative.

Quick, to the point
This book, in my opinion, was a good, short read. Good, straightforward information on a range of investment possibilities during periods of inflation. However, after reading more about historical periods of inflation and hyperinflation, I think this book is a wonderful addition as far as what to really do with your money.

Valuable!!
This book is filled with reliable and important information. I thought a book on the subject was essential because inflation seems more important than ever in today's world. I can't wait to apply what I have learned to turn inflation—something I have always found annoying—into something that will help me financially!
