What a fabulous story that only Nicky James can write. And of course narration by Nick J. Russo is top flight. Your heart will bleed for Bishop, and you will be cheering and pulling for Anson. So much emotion. Excited listen to Outside.

This was an amazing story, an emotional rollercoaster, filled with love, angst and a tiny bit of a courtroom drama. I have been in a book slump lately, for the past months starting and not finishing book after book, thinking something is wrong with me, why can't I get into a story. It seems that Inside was exactly the book I needed, it captivated me from the first chapters and I was unable to put it down, finished in 2 days. This book ends in a good spot of the story, with a satisfying HFN, but I cannot wait to continue the Bishop's and Anson's story, so very excited for the book 2 to be released in audio. Narrator did a great job, his voice and storytelling ability made this a perfect listening experience. Highly recommend for readers who enjoy a bit of angst with their romance.

SQEEEEEEE. Omg I read this book a while ago and now listened. Omg Nick, what an amazing job….his narration kept me exercising, that’s when I listen. He made me feel right inside the prison.


Phenomenal. This book left my heart and mouth speechless. What a emotional roller coaster Anson and Bishop took me on

My heart ached for these men. I couldn’t have been anymore of a cheerleader for them than I was. They are perfect together.

I wish I could give this book more than five stars and I really need the second book like yesterday (audio). I will say, they will be a couple as well as a story I will never ever forget.

An absolutely beautiful story. I love the narrator and the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars for performance is because I would have loved to hear a black man narrate Bishop. But otherwise this is one of my favorites from Nicky James!

This was such an exceptional read, I knew I had to revisit it in audio. I remember reading it and just being blown away by the emotion of the story between Bishop and Anson. Nick J Russo did a wonderful job giving voice to these two men! The emotion was very present in his narration, and he drew me right back into the story. I was hooked, even at 11 hours I barely stopped listening until the end. A death row inmate and his prison guard seem unlikely to form a bond, but the bond they form is so deep. Their story continued to evoke so many emotions in me. Nicky James did an amazing job pulling me in and providing me with everything I needed to feel part of the story. Nick J Russo made you feel the story with his narration. The attention to detail about prison life on Death Row in Texas really brought Bishop and Anson to life for me. Their story was so amazingly different, making it such a thought provoking read, I loved it. I found myself running on all the emotions and having myself a good cry at one point. Or two. I had almost forgotten part two wasn’t part of the audio, and now I’m a bundle of impatience for the next part of Anson and Bishop’s story. This is a must read or listen, and I highly recommend it. Don’t forget the tissues!

All I have to say is AMAZING. Damn Nicky, you blow my mind and soul with each book I’ve listened to thus far. The gentle giant and his galant angel have won my heart!

This book absolutely blew me away! It was engrossing, deeply moving and one of my top reads of the year. Nick Russo does an AMAZING job with this one! Don't skip it!

This is one you must listen to. Nick is wonderful in bringing the characters to life and making you feel the emotions of each character. This has to be one is for sure part of my top 10 books I have listened to. Can’t wait for the 2nd book.

What a fantastic story by Nicky James and excellent narration by Nick J Russo! I really felt the anguish, the pain, the desperation, and the longing between Anson and Bishop. Just loved it. Can't wait to read Outside and see what happens next!
