The story is definitely dark and gritty. It involves intense topics you need to be prepared for. The scenes are both hot and depraved. I really enjoyed the premise of it, all the twists and turns that I won't ruin for you, and I have to say I didn't see the HOW of the ending coming. I knew it would, just didn't expect how it was done.

There are some grammar errors and in one case during a sex scene the person is incorrect in the sentence, so it could have used a better edit, but it's also not so bad that I couldn't stand it. Perhaps it stood out more because it was being read to me instead of my eyes scanning a page. That being said, the reader also messed up at one point and it wasn't removed in audio editing either, so could have possibly been the reader not saying the sentence correctly. Not sure.

This book is filled by psychological angst, unhealthy obsession and is a making if a true thriller!

This one was kind of a dark, contemporary retelling of Dr Jekyll /Mr. Hyde.
It was high on the steam and angst and a deliciously dark morsel.

This was raw, angsty and so very dark.

Dark, twisted, gritty and so very depraved!

This story is part of the Criminal Delights series. The Criminal Delight series is composed of a bunch of different standalone books which share an overall theme of dark, gritty, twisted love. It’s in My Blood focused specifically on obsession and how it can seep into a person’s psyche and morph them into something unrecognizable from their previous self. Mark, in the start of the book, was an average, middle-age man who was having a difficult time aging. From the beginning, Mark wasn’t a paragon of virtue, but he was a law-abiding man, if a bit self-centered and shallow. The blood transfusions transforms Mark from average and middle-age, to a young and hot stud. The more Mark transforms, the more his darker and twisted desires begin to manifest, and his self-center and narcissistic behavior intensifies. It becomes clear, no matter how hard Mark tries to justify his behavior, that Mark’s only true concern is his own pleasure. It’s like a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde transformation if Mr. Hyde was sexy, hot beast of a Dom. There was a ton of sex in this book – super hot, kinky, delicious sex. I loved the kinky sex club which hosted many steamy scenes.

Overall Rating: 4.5 Stars. The characterizations and sex scenes were very well done. The main purpose of the plot seemed to be a way to showcase Mark and his transformation – which was done very well – but I would have liked a little more exploration of the relationship between Mark and Sean. I hope there’s a sequel featuring the two of them.

I also listened to this book on Audible. The story was just as steamy and delicious. Zachary Zaba did a good job of narrating the story, and I enjoyed listening to the book just as much as I enjoyed reading it the first time.
