Publisher's summary

When you’re 11 years old, it’s tough convincing people to take you seriously. When you’re an 11-year-old savant, It’s exponentially more difficult.

Since Jake’s inability to connect with others had made him somewhat of an outcast for most of his life, he’d learned to divert his energy into his artistic talent, creating mesmerizing images capable of literally paralyzing anyone who should gaze upon them.

For Jake, it was normal to see and perceive things others were incapable of recognizing, but even he was caught completely off-guard when confronted with the reality that dragons not only exist, but that one of them was destined to become his very own.

As the bond between Jake and his dragon evolves and deepens, it becomes increasingly difficult to explain the uncanny occurrences which seem to accompany them, all while keeping the very existence of his dragon a secret.

While most people accept the logical explanations for the unusual activities surrounding them, dragoneers are not most people and they are dead set on capturing Jake’s dragon.

Very cute doing of age story

Like the premise, though the story line is so very heavy surrounding saving Mother Earth. Though they have fixed it in one book! So cute but simplistic.

This would be great for kids. I just couldn't get into it. But like I said I think kid's would enjoy it. The fantasy was good.

I liked the way the person who was telling the story made the characters come to life.

Appropriate for any age!

When I listen to a story, I particularly look for age appropriateness and wonder generated. This story is well written and well narrated. And the story will capture the attention of any age that has heard of dragons. This story does, indeed, create wonder. Enough wonder that this 60 year old feels young and wishes she had her own dragon!!! I'd call that wonderment! ENJOY😘

Turbo & Jake

Love the book. Jake reminds me of my grandson, so it was that much more enjoyable. The form turbo chooses is pretty funny but it works. This would make an awesome anime. AC Oliver, awesome job man. You knocked this one out of the park. I was immersed in the story immediately. Looking forward to book 2. Everyone keep up the good work.

Such a fun story!

Riano has done it again! This time our story is about Jake a young boy who struggles with relationships with peers and teachers. Jake is so smart he turns his classmates and teachers off. Jake is in his own little world but a genius at it. Jake loves to draw pictures of everything that he sees so he can have lasting memories of them. One day while fishing in his own slice of heaven Jake meets a little white Chihuahua he later names Turbo. What Jake soon learns is that little white Chihuahua is actually a real live dragon. The dragon changes to a Chihuahua to live among humans in our world. Jake and Turbo immediately become friends and Turbo helps Jake learn how to relate to those around him. Jake thrives in peer relationships and teacher interactions. Turbo gives Jake so much courage in who he is. Together they can accomplish anything. This story is full of twists and turns and excitement. With Turbo's years of knowledge and Jake's genius talents they go on many adventures and challenges. This is one of those "can't put down" books because around every corner is more excitement. I can not wait to continue with the next book in the series just to see what Jake and Turbo experience next. Great read by Riano D. Mcfarland and great listen by AC Oliver

Heartwarming Story

Perfect book for younger readers. Found the narration a little slow, but still good. Interesting story of a boy and his dragon and all he accomplishes with a little bit of confidence.

Received this book for free in return for an honest review.

Cute

The main thing that struck me right from the beginning is the way a friend (of whatever kind) can be just what a child like Jake needs. A friend that will build confidence in the child, show him his strengths and encourage him to be himself. Good lessons. It was a cute story and some of the humor made me laugh out loud. I rated it a four instead of five because it started out like something I could recommend to my great-grandkids. However, I think today's media pushes enough political views on our kids without putting it in an otherwise wonderful book for children. And that goes whether I agree with the views or not. There were so many other good lessons in the book, Let our children be children!
