Story
James Allen's From Poverty to Power (1901) and As a Man Thinketh (1902) stand as seminal texts in the self-help genre that have served as sources of inspiration since their publication at the beginning of the 20th century. Loosely based in its principles around the Biblical proverb "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he," As a Man Thinketh asserts the powerful idea that belief is central to bringing about positive events in one's life.

Story
As we think, so we become. This fundamental truth, which some have called "The Secret" or the "Law of Attraction" was clearly and convincingly argued for the first time in James Allen's masterpiece, As a Man Thinketh. Allen reveals how our thoughts shape our character, and manifest themselves in our finances, health, appearance, and environment. The choice is yours: either master your thoughts and create the life you want or remain mired in negativity, frustration, and failure.

For more than 1,000 years, Christians and Muslims lived side by side, sometimes at peace and sometimes at war. When Christian armies seized Jerusalem in 1099, they began the most notorious period of conflict between the two religions. Depending on who you ask, the fall of the holy city was either an inspiring legend or the greatest of horrors. In Crusaders, Dan Jones interrogates the many sides of the larger story, charting a deeply human and avowedly pluralist path through the crusading era.

The papal tiara has been worn by a number of infamous men through the course of its history. Some have been accused of murder, many have had mistresses, while others sold positions in the church to their followers or gave land and wealth to their illegitimate children. E. R. Chamberlin examines the lives of eight of the most controversial popes, from the reign of Pope Stephen VI, who had his predecessor exhumed, put on trial and thrown in the Tiber, in the ninth century, through to Pope Clement VII, whose failed international policy led to the Sack of Rome in 1527.

Story
John Julius Norwich - called a "true master of narrative history" by Simon Sebag Montefiore - returns with the book he has spent his distinguished career wanting to write, A History of France, a portrait of the past two centuries of the country he loves best. Beginning with Julius Caesar's conquest of Gaul in the first century BC, this study of French history comprises a cast of legendary characters - Charlemagne, Louis XIV, Napoleon, Joan of Arc, and Marie Antionette, to name a few - as Norwich chronicles France's often violent, always fascinating history.

The Alhambra in Granada, the Mosque in Cordova - these are some of the magnificent physical remnants of Moorish rule in Spain. Their influence on culture, engineering, and civilization has also remained in ways often unacknowledged. Lane-Poole was the first to publish a scholarly history in English about a non-Christian civilization, making this a ground-breaking work. Written with extensive knowledge, wit, and admiration, Lane-Poole’s The Moors in Spain is not to be missed.

The Borgia family have become a byword for evil. Corruption, incest, ruthless megalomania, avarice, and vicious cruelty - all have been associated with their name. And yet, paradoxically, this family lived when the Renaissance was coming into its full flowering in Italy. Examples of infamy flourished alongside some of the finest art produced in western history.

Story
When Alexander the Great died at the age of 32, his empire stretched from the Adriatic Sea in the west all the way to modern-day India in the east. In an unusual compromise, his two heirs - a mentally damaged half brother, Philip III, and an infant son, Alexander IV, born after his death - were jointly granted the kingship. But six of Alexander's Macedonian generals, spurred by their own thirst for power and the legend that Alexander bequeathed his rule "to the strongest," fought to gain supremacy.

The Republic of Venice was the first great economic, cultural, and naval power of the modern Western world. After winning the struggle for ascendency in the late 13th century, the Republic enjoyed centuries of unprecedented glory and built a trading empire which at its apogee reached as far afield as China, Syria, and West Africa. This golden period only drew to an end with the Republic's eventual surrender to Napoleon. The Venetians illuminates the character of the Republic during these illustrious years by shining a light on some of the most celebrated personalities of European history.

Warrior. Ruler. Patron of the arts and language. Terrorist. Brutal oppressor. Protector of the good. Guardian of Christendom. Father of Europe. There are so many different ways in which Charlemagne can be described, and yet, the man himself is often seen as an enigma. Depending on the viewpoint of history, he could have been either a monster or a guardian angel. Yet, as with most men, the truth lies somewhere in between. The truth is that he was human.

This new edition combines As a Man Thinketh with Mastery of Destiny. In Mastery of Destiny, Allen reveals that the natural progression of human evolution is away from the evil that results from ignorance and toward ultimate good. This is quite a special Audio collection. Over 3 dozen hours of well done recordings.
James Allen's wisdom is very pragmatic yet eloquently stated. His words flow like poetry, yet the advice is very practical.
Allen's style is mostly based on good logic, but has some New Thought philosophy weaved through it.

Book is great but performance is odd enough that I wonder if it’s a machine
The audio performance is strange. For example, a word like “ennui” is pronounced en-oo-wee. This makes me wonder if it’s actually narrated by a machine, not a human. Personally, I much prefer the paperback version of “Mind is the Master: The Complete James Allen Treasury.” I’ve found no evidence that the so-called narrator, Andrew Farrell, has narrated any other books or actually exists. Google’s Bard AI says these audiobooks were released in 2005 when text-to-speech technology was still in its early stages and that the mispronunciations may be due to the limitations of the technology at that time. Bard adds: "However, it is also possible that Andrew Farrell is a real person who is just not very good at narrating audiobooks." Personally, I prefer talented humans… But if you don't mind the slightly robotic narration, you'll almost certainly get a lot out of the material itself.

The James Allen Experience
The reality of my personal experience deals in the archives of the Paleo scriptures. Enfolded was a plan to see an hear the encounters man has been put through from the beginning of times. This unfolds and opens the door to meaningful knowledge man has been lookin for all his Life. The changes man has placed in scriptures has made them in essence watered down even diluted to a point of unbelief.
Mr. Allen has made things simple to hear and understand, in that He opens up in common language what has never before been revealed since the different versions during AC & BC Era. The break down of carnal thinking(Man), opening New Thoughts of enter Self. Allen has open doors of considerations, to help enlighten those looking for answers for centuries, and always been misled by those without understanding, or even purposely lying about the Truth. Deceptions, Lies, Dishonesties, Frauds, from the so called leaders of these cults. Some called, Popes, Jesuit fake Priest, Cardnals, Bishops-to Different Carnal beliefs Such as Baptist Methodist, Southern Baptist Pentecostal seven day of Advantis the church of Latter Day Saints The Islamic faith the Jewish faith The agnostics the Q movement The Mormon faith and many other fake phony malicious and truthful followers of misguided information.
All All these has taught us nothing but has separated us in many forms fashion ways. Divided families fathers mothers sons and daughters grandparents sisters and brothers Into mistress and the belief of the biblical scripture.
James Allen has provided new believable insights to the inner self of man where the good or evil. How fun if this time no fault of his words, definition or and deliverance of the information we all need to live a spiritual life. Taking self out of the equation which is a very difficult thing to do because we have never been taught right now Mr. Allen has shown a different pathway of excellence understanding love and wisdom knowledge understand. Compliments to the chef for a great audiobook message to those that have a desire to hear.

A simple guideline to simplify our thinking leading to simplifying our life!
James Allen's writings are the most profound and principle cantered teachings I've encountered. The fundamental fact that we create our life with our very own thinking, is so liberating. Just like good, evil in our lives also exists within us. This work is for everyone but only the ones who are humble to accept self with good and bad, will be able to maximise the learnings from his book and impact themselves and everyone they come in contact with.
