Publisher's summary

It's time to travel with James and Malcolm through their 20-year history as they battle each other and struggle to hold on to a lifetime of secrets.
James
Never good enough.
Not the real son.
I will prove him wrong - prove everyone wrong.
I am someone.
I will succeed.
I don’t need my brother to help me.
I don't need anyone.
My enemy holds my secret.
He teases me.
Taunts me.
Follows me with his eyes.
Our hot, angry kisses keep me up at night.
I don’t want him.
I hate him.
But I can’t stop thinking about him.
That there's more to him
I want to discover him.
The truth is unexpected.
My enemy might not only be my friend but the love I never thought to have.

Malcolm
Live, love, laugh.
Life is too short to worry when you don’t know how long you’ve got.
I want every day to be my best.
Like it’s my last.
My friends see what I let them.
Not the real me.
Only one man has ever crawled beneath my skin.
He drives me crazy.
Makes me wild.
Makes me care.
A night of bad decisions changes the course of my life.
Everything I've known no longer makes sense.
My enemy now stands by my side.
I’m no longer running.
I want to stay.
I want a future.
Hate has changed to something new and wonderful.
Something terrifying.
Uncontrollable.
Love.

Perfection

I have been in love with this series since we met Austin. From the start, this series has grabbed me and no one more so than James. Throughout we got glimpses about who James was and who he may be. There was always a mysteriousness surrounding James that always stuck with me.

We didn’t know much about Mal, other than James despised him and Mal antagonized James at every opportunity. We certainly didn’t know Mal is carrying his own secret that no one knows, not even Rhoades. The push and pull of James and Mal finding each other was so captivating. James’ secrets and resentments kept him so closed off from the only family he had. Mal kept pushing James to let go of his past and live for the now and leave old resentments and hurts behind. This enemies to lovers and slow burn was just perfect for these two.

I couldn’t have loved James and Mal's story more. Amazing series, fantastic characters and their story was just perfection.

I first read this series, and I loved it so much I am circling back to listen to them in audio. The narration of these characters has been fantastic! Kale Williams has done an amazing job bringing Felice's wonderful words to life.

APPLAUSE! What a GREAT series!

Malcolm was no holds bar when it came to going after his man. James didn't stand a chance. And that is what makes this story great. You see, James looked out of everyone. So, did Malcolm, but the difference is James never had that family of loving support, during his childhood. Not, until Malcolm came along and shown him the light. Yes, they were two pissed off mean men towards each other when they became adults. But, you could feel that undeniable passion with every so call unwanted kiss between the two. Malcolm was able to do something that James' brother wasn't able to do for him and that was replace his hate with love and forgiveness. The journey of getting to that point was a crazy ride that I totally enjoyed. Plus, at the end you got to see every couple in the series come together as one big happy family. What a GREAT HEA! I totally recommend the entire series. The narrator was also GREAT. ENJOY!

Perfection!

I have read this book so many times it’s hard for me to write a review that is not a blubbering mess of me gushing about how much I love Mal and Jamie. But I will try to at least be coherent.

This is an enemies-to-lovers story; everyone is always saying that Mal and Jamie hate each other. Only, it isn’t strictly true… Malcom and James have a very complicated relationship, they have known each other for most of their lives and Mal has tried to be there for James when they were kids. But hurt, resentment and secrets have forged a chasm between them and after twenty years it seems the only way they can interact is snapping at each other.

I won’t delve further into what changes between them because I don’t want to spoil the fun of reading this wonderful book.

The audio version is absolutely amazing, Kale Williams did such an amazing job with the different, distinctive voices and accents.

Heart breaking

This was so heart breaking at times, the emotions just rolled thru me!! James had never known love! When his mother dies, he is sent to live with his wealthy and horrible father and brother. He had hoped that his brother and he could be friends but he over heard him talking to his best friend, Mal. Mal secretly obsesses over James. As time goes on, the two of them are at each others throats. One day things escalate and they get together. This was fantastic!! Listened to it in one setting, could not stop!! Kale Williams did a fantastic job with the narration!!

Thoroughly breathtaking

There are no words which can adequately express how much this story will touch you. James is so full of hope and bravery and to witness the life changing moments from his point of view is devastating. Kale Williams’ narration Is inspired. His facility with accents is impressive and key to this book. I was gutted, absolutely gutted and shed tears. This book is one of my all time favorites and on my re-read list. Such a wonderful accomplishment for both Felice Stevens and Kale Williams.

Emotionally Engaging

This book takes you on a rollercoaster ride. It was heartbreaking and beautiful. I love a good enemies to lovers story. This book was well written and the characters were dynamic and well developed. It’s easy to get lost in this story. Kale Williams did a fantastic job of bringing this story to life.

HOT CHEMISTRY!!

The chemistry between James and Malcolm was sizzling hot!! 🔥 I’m glad James learned Mal wasn’t just the playboy he made himself out to be but someone invested in kids getting the care they needed for medical problems. With James saving all the young men from a life of selling themselves both he and Malcolm made a wonderful couple. I’ve read through this series waiting to get to this book and I wasn’t disappointed although I would have loved if it had been longer. 😉 I was thrilled with the audio version because the narrator did an excellent job! There was a scene where four couples were together and the narrator Kale William did such a great job because I could distinguish each and every individual character 🤗 and his British accent was swoon worthy 😍
FANTASIC book all around!!

A Love Worth Waiting For

James Uncontrollable by Felice Stevens

Story line
Author: Ms. Felice Stevens

The book has a very dark edge to it but if you continue you will start to see lightness emerging. Spanning over 20 years we see the at times volatile relationship between James and Malcolm. Mal is best friends with Rhoades, James older half brother.

James and Mal have serious issues to contend with. In the previous books you see there is strong resentment between the two. Sometimes hate and love can be very close and difficult to differentiate between. James had a very poor view of himself and acted out quite recklessly as a young man. Mal is aware of James past mistakes and this has caused an even greater divide on how they treat each other. Time doesn't necessarily heal all wounds as the men continued to bait and snark at each other over all these years. But as I stated earlier emotions as complicated as hate can change and I was completely absorbed at their transformation. I don't want to give away any spoilers so you will have to pick up the book to understand what caused this great discord between these compelling men and see if they can heal past wounds. An amazing story chocked full of realistic angst that I highly recommend.

Audio
Narrator: Mr. Kale Williams

Kale is one of my favorite narrators. His voice is quite distinctive and I love his interpretation of all the various characters. His tone is always soothing and as usual you always know who is speaking as each person is developed and distinct. Kale nailed the voice of young James and you could feel his intense anxiety when he is shipped to live with his cold and uncaring father. All in all this presentation is a wonderful audio that lives up to its expectations. I highly recommend this wonderful listening experience and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
