It is different from other courses in that you also learn to understand the likely replies to your questions. You will hear key words and phrases used in dialogues between native speakers, so you learn not only how to say them but also how they are used in conversation.

Best Japanese audiobook so far!

Japanese is not easy to learn but this book certainly makes it easier to learn thus making the learning process much more fun and enjoyable. Thanks!

Functionality

Collins Easy Learning Japanese is the very first language learning course that has fully grasped my attention throughout. A great deal to the voice; enticing and articulative! There is also so much functionality in the choice of words/phrases that this audio course teaches!

Very good for Basic Travel

This book is easy to follow, and it makes learning easy. It is great for basic travel only, nothing relating to reservations or anything like that. Purchases and restaurants are the most comped it gets.

Why does it stop there?

Among the (too) many introductions to the Japanese language this one is really very nice, both in content and form (including really pleasant voices).

But as in most cases, the producers are obviously not able/willing to go with the method a bit wider (that would be quite easy, doing similar stuff in different situations) and few levels higher. How sad and frustrating - and somehow cheap.

The claim that once you have finished the book you will be able to communicate in many situations in Japan is totally ridiculous.

Leaving the labels aside, I still liked to listen to the book.
