Publisher's summary
Will love survive the storm on the horizon?
It was family ties that led Christie Ryan to Rivers End, the small seaside town on the rugged Australian coastline. But it’s her heart that is telling her to stay.
Bequeathed her grandmother’s cottage, Christie is ready to put the past behind her for a chance at a future with local artist Martin. When Martin is approached by a secretive stranger for a portrait, he accepts, eager to build a nest egg for his life with Christie.
Martin doesn’t know the unfortunate chain of events the commission will set into motion or the dark forces at play from Christie’s old life that aren’t prepared to let her go yet.
Together Christie and Martin will have to weather the storm to discover who is behind the efforts to ruin their happiness. And in doing so, learn that for love to triumph, sometimes you must have the faith to sink or swim.
Jasmine Sea follows on from The Stationmaster's Cottage with its own HEA.
Includes Martha, a bonus novella from the Rivers End series.

Laurie Morgan runs a café in the small seaside community of Mermaids Point, named after the beauties rumoured to live in the waters off the top of the point. When a hazy image is posted online of what appears to be a mermaid, the café and the village are soon full to bursting with curious sightseers. The most eye-catching of the new arrivals is Jake Smith, who has rented a cottage for the summer while he works on his new book. Or so he says. In fact, he is a journalist, burned out and disillusioned with life, whose editor has sent him on a crack-pot hunt for mermaids....

Sam is, to say the least, bookish. An English major of the highest order, her diet has always been Austen, Dickens, and Shakespeare. The problem is that both her prose and conversation tend to be more Elizabeth Bennet than Samantha Moore. But life for the 23-year-old orphan is about to get stranger than fiction. An anonymous, Dickensian benefactor calling himself Mr. Knightley offers to put Sam through Northwestern University’s prestigious Medill School of Journalism. There is only one catch: Sam must write frequent letters to the mysterious donor, detailing her progress.

Predictable romance, and yet so enjoyable.
This is the second book in the series. It's predictable, extremely romantic. Things I normally dislike. Yet while I do tasks around the house, the story is cheerful and I enjoy every minute. Sometimes sweet happy endings are just nice.

A wonderful piece of fiction
I have to admit at the outset that romance is not my normal genre. That said, I really enjoyed this book. Part “Pride & Prejudice”, part “Murder She Wrote” with enough twists and turns to make the road to River’s End jealous. I enjoyed Phillipa’s narrative style and Kathrine Littrell’s performance. It was a fun thriller and I look forward to reading more.
