Excellent Listen!

Thank you John for sharing your relationships with us, I feel like with each person you speak to we go on the journey together with you and each guest. “You’ve come along way since the bleeping Denny’s!”

A Great Traveling Companion

John is as good in front of the microphone as he is with his pen. Loved all five conversations, which I binged listened on a long drive. A nice change of pace from traditional audio books.

Really Enjoyed

Loved David Feherty and Tom Izzo conversations. A book about relationships, but that was OK. The stories are great.

A Variety Of Guests

John's praise for his guests becomes cartoonish at times. Having said that, I learned a lot about them and John's decades of experience as a sports journalist inform his narrative well.

Simply the best!

John Feinstein does it again! A brilliant book. I couldn't stop listening. Mike Krzyzewski is one of my true heroes and only Feinstein could have gotten that interview. All the other interviews were equally impressive. John Feinstein is a national treasure. Every book I've read by him is first rate and this one is no exception! Thank you, John!

Not an Audiobook

This is NOT and audiobook. It is a podcast. John does a minimally prepared intro, at times repeating himself, that is clearly not written out fully. He then calls up and talks to one of his friends on the phone, with sometimes mediocre connections. Then does an outro that repeats most of the intro. There are some great stories, but this is NOT an audiobook and should not be sold as one.

How many times can you say, “my good friend.”

His descriptions of how close he is with these people boarders nausea. Comes off as a groupie. Some interesting stories.
