Publisher's summary

Lexi Mallard saw what happened in the woods. But if she tells...

Ten years is a long time to keep a secret. Eat, sleep, work. Stay busy. A social life seems impossible until Corbin Taylor, Lexi’s policeman next-door-neighbor, reaches out in friendship that quickly becomes much more serious.

Lexi’s budding relationship with a cop doesn’t go unnoticed by her evil brother.

She quickly learns that putting the past behind is not always an option. Sometimes it will chase, overtake, and try to kill you.

Very entertaining

An enjoyable narrative! Kristina Klebe does a wonderful job with the characters and helps pull you into the story. There is a point where you wonder where this is going and the answer comes just in time. If you enjoy Nicholas Sparks or any good romantic “girl with a secret” story, then This book will do you “Justice” Ms Klebe definitely needs to read more on Audible! Her narration is awesome! In other hands, this may not have been as good! Look for her name!

A really good story

Lexi was a neglected, abused and then abandon girl, but there was one summer when she had a redheaded friend named Hattie mayfair. Just like all the other toy in her life it would be a family member who took that away as well. After she grows up and has 22 working as a waitress in a bit technician she meets her neighbor call my his name is Corbin and he couldn’t be more perfect for Lexi. She experiences a lot of firsts with Corbin, like feeling safe, loved and knowing what it’s like when people have your best interest at heart. After she is assaulted in a violent attack by who they think is a serial killer in the Baton Rouge area does she start to realize not only does she want justice but Hattie deserves it. I love this book and although it is very squeaky clean enjoyed that it was inspirational and very interesting. I do have to say one thing being a lifelong resident of Louisiana, no one who has an air condition in Louisiana during the summer is going to leave it off. In the book she says Lexi left her AC off and just used a fan, But even my poorest and I mean dirt poor relatives use their condition. It makes said that that’s just one small thing that doesn’t ruin the story whatsoever. I thought the narrator did an awesome awesome job and the story was so very interesting.

A well written drama . Deeply emotional

A story line is well written and easy to follow. Acceptable for more mature audience such as teens teens. Storyline includes Domestic violence And great loss.. The narrator was good and very easy to follow.

Suspenseful & romantic!

I definitely recommend this book! Justice for Hattie Mayfair had both sweet and romantic moments that would make you smile as well as tense and suspenseful moments that would bring a shiver down your spine. **spoilers in this next paragraph!** As the prologue will tell you, the main character, Lexi, (no, her name isn't Hattie), went through awful experiences at a young age when she watched her psychopathic brother kill her best friend, Hattie Mayfair. Threats were issued, silence was promised, and the body was buried in a shallow grave. Both siblings have since grown up, but what happened that day in the woods had still been kept a secret. That is, until the past begins to catch up, and those secrets begin to unravel. Characters: All of the characters were interesting, unique, and vibrant. Lexi was perhaps a little too innocent, but I took that to be a part of her personality. That aspect of her was actually very endearing (as was her Southern accent!). Corbin Taylor, the guy she ends up falling in love with, is also pretty amazing, and his family (family is something that Lexi lacked growing up) is also a big part of the story. Finally, the rumors and mystery surrounding the main antagonist made it clear that he was a cold-hearted villain, and I love how the author had him involved only indirectly until it was nearing the climax. Narration: I'm super grateful I had the chance to listen to the audio version of this story as (in my opinion) the reader was exceptional and did Lexi's Southern accent perfectly. The narration was clear and engaging. If anyone is reading my review and is considering picking up a copy of the story, I'd highly recommend the audiobook. :) Please note that I received a complimentary audio copy of this book from StoryOrigin for review purposes. All thoughts and opinions are completely my own, and I was not required to leave a positive review.

Good Ol’ Hattie

A bittersweet and simple tale of a woman coming to terms with trauma and loss through the love of a good Christian family. At some points the wholesomeness of the Taylor family seemed a bit unreal, but the heart racing development of first love between Lexie and Corbin often made me smile wistfully.

Kristina Klebe is a terrific storyteller and she brings such heart and depth to each of the characters. She keeps the pace flowing and pulls you along chapter after chapter. Moments that I might’ve skimmed had I been reading were each given time and imbued with their own personal resonance. Hearing her read this piece was a true pleasure.

Suspenseful Thriller & Romance - Trigger Warnings

Parents- PG13- middle school and up - drug and alcohol abuse shown
Language- G - clean
Violence- PG13- Very abusive controlling brother and murder of close friend
Sexual Content- PG - clean just some kissing
Potential triggers - shows drug and alcohol abuse, neglectful parents, violent beatings and abuse from her brother and his friends

This is a mix of thriller and romance. It shows a quick start romance with wonderful promise and then Lexi's past and brother come back to haunt and threaten her. This was a great read with lots of emotions, tense moments, and a Christian center to dealing with life's difficulties. I definitely recommend this one but be mindful of the potential triggers going into it.

Narrator- The narration was great, but I did prefer listening at 1.35x speed.

Suspenseful!

Justice for Hattie Mayfair is well written, intriguing, and suspenseful. Lexi and Corbin are great characters. The storyline is fast-paced, filled with secrets, mystery, romance, and twists and turns. Lexi is beautiful and strong. Her past is heartbreaking. Corbin is handsome, supportive, and caring. The supporting characters are great. Kristina Klebe did a good job with the narration. I enjoyed it.

Sweet and suspenseful

I listened to Justice For Hattie Mayfair, and it was a intriguing book that I couldn’t put down. I really enjoyed the suspense and the love story in this book! Irene Oronato did a great job conveying the characters emotions. Lexi has had a rough life, and her past won’t let go. She saw her friend Hattie get killed ten years ago, and her family is horrible. She meets Corbin who is her next door neighbor. They build a friendship that turns into more, and he is determined to help keep her safe. She begins to realize how many people are on her side. Can she get justice for Hattie?

Charming Christian Fiction

I enjoyed this story. Lexi's murky past started to cause trouble in her new relationship with Corbin, the cop who lived next door. Lexi had to make a decision as to whether to confront her past or end her relationship. The story was romantic and contained some intrigue. I'm looking forward to more stories from this author. Kristina Klebe's narration was fine, and her performance kept my attention. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.
