Publisher's summary

Creator of The Equalizer TV series Michael Sloan reinvents the story of the mysterious Robert McCall, a former intelligence officer who helps desperate people in need of his unique skill set.

Got a problem? Odds against you? Call the Equalizer.

McCall’s first client is a distraught mother who is desperate to locate her young daughter, drawn into the shadowy world of white slavery. But this client may not be all she appears to be. At the time same, McCall is approached by a diplomat who works for the United Nations. Her son, an American captain in the US Army, is part of a contingent advising Syrian Rebel forces in their fight against the Jihadists. He has been reported KIA, but his body has not been found. His mother asks McCall to find out if her son is alive or dead.

When McCall embarks on a suicidal rescue mission in Syria, he stumbles upon a terror plot aimed at the United States. The terrorists are being protected by mercenaries known as Momento Miro - Remember That You Must Die. McCall discovers the key to the terror attacks is his onetime boss, Control, the head of a spy organization called “The Company”. He is missing. His life has been deleted from all personal and intelligence records, as if he never existed.

McCall has to find his old friend and stop these terror attacks from being carried out on American soil. McCall also has to deal with an “Equalizer” wannabe, a psychotic vigilante whose attempts to be a “hero” and rid the New York streets of violent crime are getting innocent people killed.

Outstanding book! Hope there will be more...

I couldn't be any happier with the new releases this week! I have just finished listening to two fabulous books!! The first was HELLBENT by Gregg Hurwitz and the second is this one. I had completely given up all hope of Michael Sloan writing a second EQUALIZER book. Anyway this book is a must read/listen and is JUST AS GOOD AS THE FIRST BOOK!
This book begins with a near rape in an alley. A man calling himself the Equalizer neutralizes the two would be rapists, the woman gets away. The man calling himself the Equalizer leaves a business card identifying himself as the Equalizer but he's not Robert McCall.

McCall is actually in a different part of NYC rescuing a young woman. He's been hired by the girl's mother. When he points the waiting mother out to the girl she tells him "that's not my mother ".
This book has an eclectic mix of human sex trafficking, jihadists and ISIS terrorists, a wannabe Equalizer who doesn't mind collateral damage, a slumlord who is taught a valuable lesson and that's not all! To say this book is high action would be an understatement.
Jeff Gurner does an outstanding job narrating.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book.

Always entertaining

I like the other style in the subject material. Sometimes he goes on a bit too far on my Knute details but that’s part of the background And you actually do you learn a lot

Good Story but Outdated Sexism

Author is still obsessed with beautiful women and their breasts, which seem be necessary features of the many damsels in distress he writes about. Good stories, though.

Better than the first

This novel was more true to the style of the show that I am old enough to have watched on the original run. This can be a little confusing at times as you wonder why you are meeting all these characters but stick with it. There are reasons. Great job to performer too. excellent. Happy with it all.

Guns and Nipples

I doubt that I am the only female listening. Too many guns and nipples. Guns and nipples do not improve the story. WAY too many guns! Way too many erect nipples. Good grief! At least there are not as many guns and erect nipples as in The Equalizer. If you have your own guns and your own nipples, it feels like being hit repeatedly over the head with cast iron frying pans after you listen for a while.

very good book

I really enjoyed the first equalizer book and this one was good too.
The only thing that I thought was too much is he had so many cases going throughout the book. I almost lost track of who was in what situation and what was what. I had to go back and get a few names straight.
except for getting a little lost and having to go back once, it was a very good story
lots of action and good listening. bring on the next one.

Outstanding performance and author

I have listened to both of the books in the series and enjoyed listening to them. I like detail so the weapon information did not bother me. The books were fast moving and caused me to be wanting to know what was going to happen next. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

McEqual

Surprising good with the multiple scenarios and degrees of personal and world impacting threats. Love Bobby McCall, the bartender.
