About this listen

Urban Explorers love the excitement of 'exploring' long-abandoned buildings, searching for mysteries in the dark, empty places. But when one such explorer takes a solo tour of a decaying mansion near Cherringham, he discovers that some houses can turn fatal. Just a careless accident? His friends don't believe so and call on Jack and Sarah to investigate. And before long it's clear that the past can harbour deadly secrets that nobody is safe from...

Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing duo: English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby. Each of the self-contained episodes is a quick read for the morning commute, while waiting for the doctor, or when curling up with a hot cuppa.

Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid 90's, creating content and working on projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, and the successful crime fiction series Cherringham.

The narrator of the audiobook, Neil Dudgeon, has been in many British television programmes including the roles of 'DCI John Barnaby' in Midsomer Murders and 'Jim Riley' in The Life of Riley. He is also known for his film roles in The Nativity, Sorted and Son of Rambow. In 2012 Dudgeon starred as Norman Birkett on BBC Radio 4's Afternoon Play series written by Caroline and David Stafford.

Love Jack and Sarah..

The 37th novella I've read about Sarah and Jack and I've loved every one of them. This was about 4 ubexers, for those of you who don't know, which I didn't until I read this novella, it's people who go looking searching around haunted houses, deserted military bases, deserted hospitals, and like that. This one was about one of the ubexers getting killed in a house that was left as if the owners just disappeared. It was a good story^^^^^^^^

No romance and no swearing^^^^^^^^

As for the narration: Neil Dudgeon does such a fabulous job on these stories.

Great Mysteries

I’ve listened to all of the Cherringham series, and I have to say that they are one of my all time favorites!! Good, clean fun!! I hope that Matthew Costello and Neil Richards will continue on with Jack and Sarah’s (and maybe Chloe?) adventures in the quaint English town of Cherringham for a long time to come!

Love all of them

Annoyed that we are required to write these to have the review count. This is book 37 and the reviews are the same for me. 5 stars for the series

Addictive mystery series

I have been listening to these books for years. I escape into the bucolic world of Cherringham where. crimes are solved by the most unlikely pairing of a retired New York homicide detective and a British divorced mother of two small business owner. Each story is creative and weaves you into the character relationships while solving the crime. The authors keep you wanting more.

Killing Time book 37

This time Sarah and Jack need to determine if an accident truly is an accident. The death of an Urban Explorer is determined by police to be just an accident, but the victims friends disagree...too many inconsistencies in their oaks behavior.

Can they find and follow the clues in time to avoid another accident? Listen and see.

Another great mystery!

Love this series. Fun to follow the major characters as they age and children become adults. Perfect listen if you love the British countryside. Take a quick vacation and enjoy.

What I've been waiting for

Been with this series from book 1, at that time there had been only 3 other reviews. I enjoyed the early books Even no I felt jack needed to come into His own and not be such a stereotype with the cigar, And the heavy New York accent., And have enjoyed seeing The development of Jack's character and of course Sarah I must say that I'm a little worried about the kids growing so fast which means jack and Sarah or getting older also. Pretty much everything clicked in this book for me Jack got back some of his individualism called biscuits cookies, which I enjoyed he hasn't done that for a while, he also called a torch a flashlight which he hasn't done for a while, had coffie for a change and the dogs got to play which very rarely happens. The story suspense at the beginning wondering what was going to happen To the to snooping kids, the story was very engaging. Just the whole relationship with Our detectives.
Wish for the series To see another full length novel which I've been begging for, when you have an American in the book it doesn't always have to be Hey loudmouth from New YorkYork or Texas. Them enjoying an ice tea on the goose during the summer instead of a hot drink. Maybe, just maybe Jack moving off the goose eventually.
I'm always a couple books behind because I love to hear Neil Dudgeon read the Stories.

Like a visit with old friends

I love this series. The plots are always interesting and Sarah and Jack’s sleuthing skills and teamwork engaging. Love the narrator too. I feel I know them and I am catching up on their latest adventure as I listen.
