Publisher's summary

Queen Shifter Lily Ruckler has found solace in brutal warfare. Her bloodied fists and bared fangs fill the holes left in her memory, the blank spaces that leave her soul aching and empty. Her only pleasure is in blood; her only salvation is the relationship she has with her infant child, the baby of unknown origins who brings her solace and stability.

When Elder Harcourt summons Lily and her protector Antonio back to the United States, Lily thinks nothing unusual about the change of location. But a standard reconnaissance mission leaves her trapped inside King Zeller's private quarters, and at his mercy. Surprise attraction rapidly turns to a battle of wills and an intense power struggle that leaves no clear victor but plenty of resentment. They are not allowed to nurse their wounds. In order to win the war against the Commoners, the King Vampire and Queen Shifter must work together. It should be easy. The war is turning, the battle is deadly, and both Lily and Ezra love the cold cleanliness of combat.

But their chance meeting has led to more than an unlikely alliance. Secrets have a way of surfacing, especially on a torn-up battlefield, and Lily and Ezra are about to re-learn all they cannot remember. If they can't control their emotions and responses, it will be to their own ruin and the destruction of everything around them.

Still one of my favotites.

One of my favorite features on the audible app is to be able to Archive a book. When you go to collections you see your books archived. They are no longer in your library because they are in their own separate space. I have thousands of audio books and I have archived almost 500 of my favorites. Because when I can't find a book to listen to I go back to my old faithfuls and find something in the archive area. No matter what I pick it will be one of my favorites. What's extremely funny is when I tell someone a series is in my top hundred they think that it's a negative thing. LOL this series is probably in my top 50. And that's out of over thousands of titles in this genre. And thousands of audiobooks across multiple accounts. I didn't know if I couldn't continue this series because I'm not really familiar with Chloe Cannon's voice. But after finishing King tomb I have to say she's growing on me. This story is getting better and she's doing a better job narrating. Now I could be a little judgy about it because I read this book probably 15 times. I already know what the character is going to do and what to expect in her voice doesn't match up with what I would prefer. But I am looking forward to seeing what she's going to do with chosen thief. Another thing I don't like is one of the author changes up their characters. Especially main characters like Lily and Ezra. But the next character that is introduced is probably my favorite in the series. And I cannot wait to listen to this next book. I'm really glad I don't have to sit down and physically read it. Excuse all the typos I'm just talking and I also didn't edit
