Chaotic Poetry

I have never listened to an audiobook before, but I truly enjoyed listening. It was hard for me to get into it, just because I've never done it before, to my surprise, I became addicted to listening to this book. I have a bachelor's in psychology and I appreciated how it was written through the mind of someone who struggles with mental illness. I can learn all the techniques to help people, but hearing someone say their thoughts aloud in a world where we are expected to wear masks to disguise our inner selves, is refreshing. The best way I can describe this book is, chaotic poetry. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

A Heartbreaking Story of a Man Struggling Through Life

I was given a free copy of this book for an unbiased review.

I was a bit apprehensive while listening to the first few minutes of the book, I was taken back by the description right out the gate, however I was brought quickly into the narrative. I ultimately enjoyed the descriptive vocabulary, it allowed for a vivid picture in every aspect of the story and I it brought me more into it. I felt like it was very authentic, it depicted alcoholism the way it happens, and my heart broke for him with every situation... I was rooting for him to come out on top of every bad thing that happened to him and that was rarely appeased. As a “glass half full” kind of person, this was hard to come to terms with.

I hated the ending, I was truly shocked when I was listening that it didn’t continue any further, but as much as I hated it, I don’t see how it could’ve ended differently.

I wouldn’t have chosen this book to read on my own, it’s out of my typical genre, and it’s not my favorite book, but I did enjoy reading it and the story did move quickly and kept me engaged til the end.
