Publisher's summary

Dreams come true for an untamable rising star and a mariachi idol in a rousing romance about passion, fame, and family by USA Today bestselling author Priscilla Oliveras.

Ambitious San Antonio singer Catalina “Cat” Capuleta gets the chance of a lifetime when she joins superstar heartthrob and fellow mariachi Patricio Galán on his seven-week concert tour. Demanding and arrogant, Patricio challenges Cat on every level, as an artist and as a woman. But headstrong Cat is determined to be his match. No matter how seductive Patricio’s baritone voice, Cat’s eyes are only on the prize: success and making her familia proud.

No woman gets under Patricio’s skin like Cat. Her talent mesmerizes. Her passion is thrilling. And her drive, stemming from an old unhealed family wound, exposes a vulnerability he secretly recognizes in himself.

When the duo hits the road, the sparks don’t just fly—they detonate. Stage by stage, as each reckons with the past—and with each other’s quick-fire personalities—they bring crowds to their feet, and Cat’s long-held dreams come true. Will their road romance go up in flames? Or could making music together kindle the most rapturous love song of their lives?

Love!!!

I loved absolutely everything about this book!!! The sexual chemistry was there the romance. It was everything I’ve been craving!! I think what made me love it even more was the fact that the main character was from Guadalajara Jalisco! I felt like I connected with her! It was beautiful reading about a main character that is from where I was born!

Incredible chemistry between main characters

There is a very slow burn to this story but it’s worth hanging in there for the HEA. Catalina is a very strong character with a generous and loving soul. The hero, Patricio is what is known as a cinnamon roll hero; tough on the outside with a warm and squishy center. Each has a father that troubles them and they base a lot of their decisions on that relationship.

I’ve really enjoyed this series so far. Excellent narration by Karla Serrato.

Swoonworthy romance

Sweet with a hint of spice, I enjoyed this romance between two mariachi singers on tour. Narrator did a great job and the grand gesture was perfection.

Wonderful Romance

I loved this book so much. The narrator brought the story to life flawlessly, and there was so much story. Rich plot, rich cultural reference, and strong characters. Just beautifully done!

a refreshing slow-burn will they/won’t they

I am a huge fan of the slow burn trope. This one played it up masterfully. Catalina and Patricio find themselves tangled up in each other’s lives to such an extreme level that their tension only builds as the stakes continue to climb. They are mutually and reluctantly addicted to the sparkling chemistry they have together, which only makes for even more angsty mutual pining and even more “close calls” and almost hookups. But if is also not done to such an extent that the rest of the plot is thrown out in exchange for needless “almost hook ups”

I love a solid rom com that fuses in every layer of a protagonist’s personality, culture, and community. With that being said, Latinx representation is regrettably sparse in this genre, so, as someone who is San Antonio born and raised it was even better to feel a deeper level of connection to a story with a protagonist from San Antonio.

The narrator is also quite talented and elevated the listening experience.

Swoon

I love me a female that is bold and take charge and that’s Catalina for me. While her past isn’t sweet she does not let that stop her from going into life with dreams and goals to achieve. I love the family bond between her sister and her as well as her adoptive family. And man oh man that chemistry between Patricio and her wow.
