About this listen

The Knitorious Murder Mystery Collection, Books 1-3 contains the first three books in the Knitorious Murder Mystery series.

Knitting can be murder!

I’m not a cop. I’m an almost-ex-wife and former full-time mom who works part-time at the local yarn store. The biggest mystery I’ve ever solved is finding a missing knitting needle tucked behind my ear after spending all morning looking for it.

Someone in Harmony Lake is trying to stitch me up for murder.

In a small town where everyone has a secret they want to keep hidden, no one is talking to the out-of-town cop who’s been brought in to solve the case. So, armed with everything I’ve learned from watching murder mysteries on TV, and a little help from my friends, it’s up to me to find the real killer and clear my name.

Can I knit the clues together and expose the killer before they unravel and kill again?

I hope so, because knitting needles aren't allowed in prison, and I look horrible in orange.

If you like your cozy mysteries with a bit of humor, small-town Canadian life, a hint of romance, a close circle of quirky, lovable characters you wish you knew in real life, dogs and cats, and free knitting patterns, there's something in this series for you.

Clean listen: no graphic violence, sex, or strong language.

Included stories: Knit One Murder Two, Killer Cables, and Murder & Merino

Great stories, horrible narrator

These stories were fun and engaging, with a nice growth of characters and relationships. As a knitter, I chose them because they sounded intriguing and included knitting. Unfortunate choice of narrator almost made me quit, however. I think with a different narrator, I would follow this series all the way through.

GREAT STORY BUT DIFFICULT TO LISTEN TO

THE GOOD: Very good stories. The author is either a knitter or a researcher because the references to knitting seem believable. The characters are likable and the setting is cozy. There are enough clues to figure out who the culprit is before they are completely revealed but not so much as to ruin the ending. Very clever use of technology when texts are being read and when two characters are speaking at the same time.

THE DIFFICULT: The narrator's voice is a problem for me. The main character sounds too young and babyish when she talks but not so much when she is "thinking". The other character's voices are unbelievable and quite cringe worthy. The men sound creepy and talk too slowly. Almost like robots. The character's "mom" figure, Connie, sounds like a wicked witch in a cartoon. All in all if I lived in that town and the people sounded like this I'd have to move.
I've only listened to 2/3 stories and will finish up the third and hope it gets better.

Just ok

The story itself is a pleasant slower moving cozy mystery with a slow romance. The reader appears to be very new to the job and speaks intermittently in character and the sometimes reads the story in jerky phrases. This bothered me so much that I stopped listening. Would recommend reading the books like I did. The characters are nice and the mystery story solid.

narrator

I returned this as the narrator could not be tolerated.. The middleaged character was given a robotic teenage voice. The story may have been good......

A knitorious cozy mystery

Knitorious Murder Mysteries Books 1 - 3 in A Knitorious Murder Mystery Collection by Regan Davis. I really enjoy listening to a series in the order they are written. I especially like how Regan Davis builds each book. In book 1, Knit One Murder Two, Megan and Adam's marriage is falling apart. Megan only works at the knitting shop, and when a murder occurs, Eric is brought onboard to solve the case. Book 2, Killer Cables, Megan now owns the knitting shop, Eric has been hired by the local police as a Detective, Megan is dog sitting Sophie, and she finds another dead body. Book 3, Murder and Merino finds Father Daniel's caretaker Jill dead. Each book is a stand alone, but, the characters relationships grow and change. I feel that each cozy is a well written mystery. I find all of Regan Davis' stories are well written and very believable. I can't wait to listen to Book 4, Twisted Stitches.

Great cozy! LOVED IT!

The pacing was perfect, the mystery was well crafted and the setting was soooo cozy - from the creative business names, the knitting explanations and even some clever word play and phrases. I've listened to the first story so far and I loved it! I'm excited to listen to the next one now!

The narrators voice was pleasing for the MC, but the other character voices were really difficult to listen to. Though, the robotic text messaging was a really cool touch!

the reader reads with a flat monotone

The reader read with a flat, boring voice. Her voices for the different characters were awful. This was not fun to listen to! The stories were good, though.

I'm rolling my eyes just thinking about it

No shade to the author. It's not their fault it's not my kind of story. If you enjoy light-hearted Hallmark style mysteries (and sometimes i do), then go for it...with one warning: the performance is...not great. I feel bad for criticizing someone, but it's SO BAD. Maybe I've been spoiled lately by really, really good performances (hello, Richard Armitage's Poirot), but this is so bland, flat, and delivered with a strange cadence. So, if the story seems like your kind of thing, listen to a sample first. You've been warned.

Great serie, wonderful books!

A Knitorious Murder Mysteries Collection : Books 1 - 3 by Reagan Davis

Great stories of a small town called Harmony Lakes with wonderful characters in it, that have turned to feel like family to me. I loved listening to them and would like to go visit and be able to shop in Knitorius.
I've been able to stitch while listening to this series and have really loved this first 3 books.
This series has turned to be one of my favorite cozy mysteries books, and are so fun and endearing just as how cozy mysteries have to be.
Just don't hesitate in buying this collection; you wont regret it.

As a knitter, I really like the story line. Author obviously has knitting knowledge as well as fiber arts experience!

I struggled with the 'voices and/or tone used for the male characters. I increased the speed to make it a bit more pleasing... but it was still hard to listen to when Eric, Adam and Phillip speak.
