About this listen
"King Arthur has dominated my life for decades and now I am banished from his side. I am not certain either of us can survive this torment..."
Lancelot, the greatest Knight of Camelot is almost flogged to death, exiled, and stripped of the King's grace. Separated from the man he loves and the kingdom he calls home, he travels from England to Europe to begin a lonely, desperate life when he meets someone who will alter his perspective forever. Suddenly, he is trapped into a fate which forces his return to England. He must fight to regain his honour and his King's life. From a world beyond ours but bound to us throughout time, the Fey hunt Arthur. They want him dead and only Lancelot can save him. Together they travel from Camelot, to Avalon and into Albion on a quest to save Arthur's soul. They must also retrieve Merlin and redeem a love which both men find hard to bear.
Lancelot and the Wolf is an adventure story of the old school, all sword and sorcery. It is also the tale of two men who have loved each other beyond all reason. This book will open your eyes to the real meaning of knightly chivalry, sacrifice and love. Lancelot is the bravest of men but can he understand what it means to love Arthur with more than just words...
This is beautiful romance story which shows a new side to the love between Lancelot du Lac and Arthur Pendragon.

After half a century of chaos, my retirement from leading the Community of Species Government has been bliss. No more hellhounds playing pranks. No more snippy demons demanding my attention. No more cajoling money from the wealthy to support the community. Just peace while I avoid my overbearing father and try to work out my next steps. Although...maybe three years of peace is enough. It might even be starting to get boring. In fact, an adolescent dragon crash-landing on my landlord's shed is just the kind of excitement I need - especially when he brings his species leader to my door.

Bi Lance and his passionate king in epic tale.
Would you listen to Lancelot and the Wolf again? Why?
I would... I loved the narration. It was a great story presented entirely as an internal POV from Lancelot. Leslie does a wonderful job making Lancelot sexy, strong and torn between his obsessive feelings for two possible suitors - Arthur, his lifelong obsession, and Else, a feisty female with a mistrious magical background.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved that it really took this classic characters and wove a really sexy m/m romance in a way that felt classy, tangible and didn't ever feel like 'slash fan fiction'. It's very well crafted book and the I look forward to the rest of the series. If you like the Game of Thrones kind of world with a hefty dash of sexy encounters (between m/m and m/f), this is a great read. It's not what I would classify as pure m/m fiction - but as the novel progresses the relationship between Arthur and Lance becomes the most powerful drive in the narrative.
What about Joel Leslie’s performance did you like?
It was excellent. I really enjoyed his performance of Else and Geraint. He creates clearly delineated characters with a wide range of dialects. It's a theatrical performance, that brings the mystical and larger than life characters of Camelot to life - while still keeping Lancelot's internal struggle really well portrayed.
If you could rename Lancelot and the Wolf, what would you call it?

A sexy, smart tale fit for a King.
A surprising delight. Sarah Luddington has taken all the latent sexy qualities of the Camelot legend and bumped them up with amazing results. The story is told from Lancelot's point of view, which I loved. The character is dark, dangerous and very, very sexy. The character relationships are complex and lay the foundation work for what could be a very exciting epic saga. Lance has amorous adventures with women while trying to escape a life-long forbidden obsession with Arthur. The writing is sensual, exciting and while there are great steamy moments - the storytelling and character development is what leaves the reader hungry for more. If you're turned off by m/m romance then this isn't the Camelot for you - but for readers like me, it's got Merlin's magic touch. The narration is excellent - he provides clear, strong characterizations with humor and right touch of wry wit.

Love this Lancelot
What made the experience of listening to Lancelot and the Wolf the most enjoyable?
I think it's a really fascinating take on a character we think we all know. I loved the first person aspect of the story -to really get inside the characters head. Because he bottles everything in, and almost all of his emotions are stifled in some way, it really worked. I think the narration is excellent - brooding and sexy.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Lance is pretty delicious. He's damaged goods and kind of the perfect medieval bad-boy. You can't help but become invested in his journey.
Have you listened to any of Joel Leslie’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I think he's a very strong narrator. The versatility displayed in this book is impressive and he does a great job with the female characters without making them seem cartoonish.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It certainly made me want to read book two. I found the relationship between Arthur and Lance really effective... the history between them and their sense of duty versus their desire. It's a very sexy book.
Any additional comments?
If you like the Game of Thrones books, this is a great m/m addition to your library. It's well researched, well crafted and full of characters that are worthy of an ongoing series.

Fabulous.
A wonderful beginning to what will hopefully prove an epic and incredibly sexy series. Lancelot is the first-person narrator of this very grown-up spin on the Camelot saga. Lance is torn between his love of a mysterious new hanger-on named Else and his long-denied passion for his King. In the novel, Lance has passionate encounters with both men and women and Luddington writes love scenes with great skill. The characters fit beautifully into the Arthurian world and her take on Lancelot and Arthur have the reader very invested in the characters and their relationship. The narration by Joel Leslie is excellent - brooding, sexy and with great character range. Not strictly m/m erotica - but a complex and exciting fantasy that delivers.

A brooding and brilliant beginning to sexy saga.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely - the book was recommended to me by a friend, and I really enjoyed the audiobook a great deal. Luddington creates an incredible, complex, confused anti-hero with her Lancelot. If you're a fan of Game of Thrones this really captures that kind of first person epic feel with an incredible forbidden relationship blazing between Lancelot and his King. Luddington takes the Arthurian characters and, with great love and respect, takes the reader in a sensual and exciting new direction. The narration is excellent - brooding, clever, with a passion theatricality that suits the the world of Camelot.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Lancelot and the Wolf?
I think when Arthur and Lancelot are alone for the first time was really a great scene... The anger, loss, heat and betrayal running between them was powerful.
Which scene was your favorite?
I really liked one of the key scenes with Else where there is a 'reveal' early on. Else is an amazing character, strong, witty and I think the introduction of that element in to the story really allowed the author to give us really interesting insight into Lancelot's personality.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Well - it would be perfectly appropriate to steal a line from the musical Camelot, actually - "Camelot: Where the tables are round and the relationships are triangular".
Any additional comments?
This is the first book in a substantial series - i'm looking forward to the next installments and hope they are released on audio as well.

Slightly disappointing.
when I purchased this I went in believing I would hear an amazing story of the love between Arthur and Lancelot. a good M/M!
instead we get this OCFemale charecter who sleeps with both them. so story felt more of a mary sue. M/M/F. I dont care to much for the female charecter. I wanted a story of Arthur x lancelot. if that's what you want I'm afraid ya wont really find this here. it's more of a three way wammie with an annoying Fey Mary sue.
Joel- you are an amazing narrator but even your talents couldnt hold my attention with this miss leader.
