Publisher's summary

Laudable Pursuit is an examination of the state of freemasonry in the United States and a plan of action for rejuvenating lodges in the 21st century. Based on topics raised in the 1960s by renowned Masonic author and Indiana past grand master Dwight L. Smith, and then promptly ignored by the fraternity, this new work is intended as a starting point for the future direction of freemasonry.

This book is authored by the Knights of the North, a Masonic think tank and edited by Christopher Hodapp, author of Freemasons for Dummies.

More Light —>This Way!

When our Craft finds its future day in / day out Lodge experience to be rich and life enhancing…it will be able to point back to THIS book and remember why we changed, and wonder why we hadn’t done so sooner.

Interesting & Inspiring

Freemasons have always had challenges to overcome with each new generation. Laudible Persuits is a great book to help get a brother thinking about ways to address some of the fraternity's challenges.

Problems often seem too big to tackle, but this book really helped me understand some of the issues we are facing today while offering ideas on how to begin to work on solutions. I am very inspired by this read, and strongly recommend it to any brother hoping to make postive change within our legendary fraternity.

A true beacon to guide our fraternity!

In a time of dwindling membership, C2A classes and low lodge attendance this audio book provides a solid way forward. The proper application of the principles found within will allow our craft to not only survive but to truly thrive. Well done brethren!

Whisper good counsel

This book is a review of problems in modern US freemasonry and what can be done about them. It advocates for a return to the basics of what made Freemasonry respected in past years.

It feels as though it was written by a “loyal opposition” within Freemasonry. Loyal because they care about the craft, but opposition because there’s quite a bit wrong that needs changing in an organization that isn’t know for rapid change.

It was a great listen and if you’re a Freemason you’ll be glad to hear we have such thoughtful brothers amongst us. Ending with specific suggestions was helpful, but I was left wanting even more - like for example some success stories of adaptation.
