Publisher's summary

Laura stared at the black cloud blotting out the sun. The cloud was unlike anything she had ever seen. As it got closer, it made a strange noise, like hail pelting the ground. Suddenly the sky began to rain grasshoppers. The bugs clung to Laura's hair and clothes and peered at her with bulging eyes. Soon they began destroying Papa's crops.

From the big woods of Wisconsin to the Indian country of the Great Plains, new adventures and landscapes filled the rich childhood of Laura Ingalls Wilder. On a frontier steeped in both danger and great possibility, Laura would grow up to witness firsthand the rapid transformation of the West as pioneers and covered wagons gave way to farms, towns, and railroads.

A pioneer, teacher, farmer's wife, and storyteller, Laura Ingalls Wilder experienced one of the most exciting times in American history—history that this gifted writer brought to life for millions and preserved for generations to come.

Laura Ingails Wilder: A Storybook Life by Janet and Jeff Bennett
Narrated by Rebecca Gallagher

l
A Great Biography.Ecellant narration.

The story is the life of Lara Ingalls Wilder.

I loved this book and listened hour after hour until the tale of Laura Ingalls Wlder and her family was told: from their births to their deaths.

Excellent narration by Rebecca Gallagher.

A few memorable moments stand out in my memory. I will give hints about them. One blazed into my my memory, probably forever. The fumes flowing out of the mouth of the drunken man ignited when...

Their baby boy did not survive his infancy long. However their daughter came to be a famous author, almost

before her mother Laura. Rose persuaded her mother, to write her stories for better established publishers. Laura's books were then written, and later a TV show happened long after she died.

Many other events are also shared in this excellent book by Janet and Geoff Benge.

I loved learning how Laura and her husband had a 4 horse powered harvesting machine because they needed 4 horses to pull it and to cause it to function in harvesting their wheat fields. Her husband said that.
Many other fascinating things in their lives are also told about in this book.

It is the story of their joys, trials, and tragedies, from Laura's childhood to her death. She survived them all.

Every book is great?

Her stories are wonderful for me as a senior. I reminisce of a hard working family and sweet life not seen today.
