About this listen
A twist of fate!
William Cook enjoyed serving the town as a lawman until a tragic accident took everything he loved. Wanting to leave his past behind, he turns to bounty hunting, enjoying the constant distraction - and the money isn’t too bad either. When he suffers a life-threatening injury, he is forced to stay put for longer than he is used to doing. The woman who tends his wounds intrigues him, but he isn’t looking for love after what happened the first time.
Emma Stewart recently lost her husband and has moved back in with her widowed father, the town doctor. While she likes helping him heal the sick, she still longs for a family of her own, so no one is more surprised than she is when she starts to develop feeling for the bounty hunter, who hides his heart of gold behind a rugged exterior.
Can Emma offer William a reason to stay? Can William find a way to heal from his broken past to start a future with Emma? Or will a haunting secret take away all the possibilities of this budding romance?

Two little girls stand with their heads bowed in my living room. I’m told they’re my granddaughters. Daisy is nine, and Alice seven. Daisy is the spitting image of her mother. This is the first time I’ve met them since my daughter and I fell out after she married that waste of space, Vince. They’ve come to live with me because their mother — my daughter — was murdered. In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. Story
When mystery author D. B. Ziegler is late delivering her book, Abi Schore steps in to help. Surely she can give her favorite author moral support over the holiday break and get the manuscript to her boss at Tea & Sympathy Publishing in time for the new year. When Abi shows up on Ms. Ziegler’s doorstep bearing holiday treats, she’s met by the author’s handsome grandson Dov, who reveals a startling plot twist. His grandmother isn’t able to finish the book and Dov promised he’d complete it so fans won’t be disappointed—a task that’s harder than he ever imagined.

Johnnie Rico never really intended to join up—and definitely not the infantry. But now that he’s in the thick of it, trying to get through combat training harder than anything he could have imagined, he knows everyone in his unit is one bad move away from buying the farm in the interstellar war the Terran Federation is waging against the Arachnids. Story
My fiancé brought me tea and scrambled eggs in bed that morning, and we snuggled together, talking about buying our rings, and about our perfect wedding next year. Then we headed into town. He held my hand and gazed at the ring I liked best, a smile spreading slowly over his face. Then a glass of bubbly to celebrate. I felt flushed, excited and ready for the rest of my life with the man I loved. We race to get on the train home. It screams to a halt and I run towards its open doors. Made it. I think he’s right behind me — but when I turn around, he’s gone.

Story
When Heather McKinley dreamed of becoming a doctor, she imagined curing sick kids and sporting pink stethoscopes. She never anticipated the sleepless nights, grueling exams, and endless labs. And she certainly never knew that her medical school earned the nickname Dead Med thanks to the tragic history of students overdosing on illegal drugs. But Heather would never consider doing anything like that. That is, until her longtime boyfriend dumps her, she finds herself failing anatomy, and her world starts to crumble.

The narrator was very good! Emma & the bounty hunter are terrific characters! Once again Lorana Hoopes writes an exquisite story! I recommend adding this book to your TBR/MUST READ/WISH Lists!

Bounty hunter meets his match
Fun historical western. The medical practices were more advanced than I expected but well done. Emma has already lost a husband to outlaws she isn’t sure she wants to take a chance on loving another lawman.

Can they forgive each other?
I enjoyed this story. Mr. Doolittle does a great job of changing his voice to fit the characters. William & Emma have obstacles to overcome in order to be together including forgiveness. A sweet, clean romance story.

Second Chance at Love Historical Western Romance
This was a second chance at love historical western romance. Emma and William’s spouses were both killed by criminals. Even though she’s attracted to him, she’s reluctant to act on it because like her husband he works at lawman job and she fears losing another loved one to that life. Her ex Carl keeps coming around and while he would be safe choice, he’s not the one her heart wants. When William discovers how her husband died, he feels guilty. Can they get past this to be together? There was plenty of suspense with bad guys to catch and injuries to recover from and sweet romance.
The narrator had a soothing tone with voice changes for the different characters. I tried speeding it up, but that made his speech too fast.

Lawfully Justified A Great Christian Read
Lawfully Justified is a great read. The narrator was a joy to listen to. William and Emma's story was about the power to forgive and I love the Christian themes throughout. The only downside it wasn't long enough. I wanted more to their story ha ha. I would recommend to others.

love this book
This is book 1 of William and Emma's story. Tells how the meet and how much Emma did not care for his line of work and possibly even him.
I receive books and audio books from the author or publisher for free for me to enjoy. I'm not required to write a positive review or any review but freely give my honest opinion.
