Book is great but needs accompanying .pdf copy due to difficulty of Russian grammar. Learning Russian would be less daunting with an accompanying text.

Good start. I believe that this is only helpful in a taught course. It is Sheffield University's book for the first year.

There is a great perspective of activities you can do in the audiobook as well as online. The website, which you will practice often with the audiobook, has many practices that include listening and repeating which are naturally required to learning a language! I know some people complain about online activities, but I am usually sitting with my audiobook, notebook, and laptop all on my desk.

This is a SUPERB book!! It walks you step by step from the beginning. The constant repetition of lessons in various ways (reading, writing, listening, speaking) helps you to memorize new dictionary and phrases.

Of course, when beginning a language as a novice, you will progress more quickly if you have a live instructor. But, whether you choose this book as a means to begin learning Russian and get a feel for the language, or as a complement to your Russian class, it is a great opportunity either way!

I do require to end by saying something that I love about the book. I liked that there are a good amount of exercises and the answers are printed. It made it simple to use this book.

This course gets a 5-star rating from me because it covers the Russian language from beginners' level to advanced. I like the way that the lessons are methodically thought out with each one building the learner's knowledge of the language step by step.

This is the audiobook asked by my "Introduction to Russian" teacher. It should be noted that, along with this audiobook, I'm using to learn Russian, which, might I add, if very necessary if one is trying to learn on the go!

Nice and easy start for the beginner

So, I believe this is great for an excellent beginner, when you begin to learn things here and there that fit into the framework your brain should already have occurred because that is what brains do--develop algorithms. This is a great learning aid at an amazing price!
