Publisher's summary

Arrested. Wrongfully accused. Sentenced to 10 years.
But the steel bars release me early.

After serving half of my time for a crime I didn’t commit, they grant me parole - with a very short leash. My second chance at freedom begins now, and I won’t waste it. I should’ve been paying more attention.

Ambushed. Captured. Stranded.
When I wake in the depths of a snowy forest, all seems lost. I’ve been left alone in the wilderness with zero means of escape. Until someone rouses beside me.

I recognize Blakely Cross instantly, yet she’s barely more than a stranger. Now she’s stuck with me in the worst possible place, as collateral damage.

Blakely blames me, and rightfully so. This entire situation is my fault. Our destinies are inadvertently twisted together by forces far larger than us. Whether she hates me or not, we need each other to stay alive.

Cope. Adapt. Persevere.
They tossed us out to be buried, but underestimated our determination. The bond we’re building will overcome the harshest conditions.
And we’re not willing to surrender.

Amazing Book!

I love this story of survival and suspense mixed with serious swoon and chemistry between these characters. I loved how the Narrator's portrayed what I felt these characters would sound like and the emotion they put in. A fantastic listen and book.

Just Okay For Me.

I really wanted to like this book, but I am kind of on the fence about it. I felt that she made Blakely too “Pollyanna” in her attitude. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, would be that positive about being dropped in the wilderness, in freezing cold weather to die. I think this book would have been more fun if she complained and drove Halder crazy until they were forced to work together. Instead, she never complained, but was his cheerleader the whole journey. It didn’t seem believable.

He was basically a saint, too. I did like him, and felt that he was a great character, but he didn’t melt my heart. He’s not “book boyfriend” material. Ha ha.

I also felt that they were unanswered questions that were not solved in the story.

Interesting story

I wasn’t really sure what to expect with this book but in the end I was happy with the story.
When I started this book, I thought the main premise was going to be about a ex-con getting into a relationship with his psychiatrist. But within a few chapters, the story took on a completely different angle with twists, and turns that I was not expecting. If you’re on the fence about this one, I would definitely recommend checking it out, both narrators are incredible and are definitely worth giving a listen to and the story is different than your everyday romance.

Performance made the book

The premise of this book started out SO well!!! It got lost somehow. I don't know if editing is to blame or if the author got tired, but something toward the middle and end of the story lost its way. It seemed like a "wait there is more' feeling to the last few chapters. Halder was too easy. Blakely too accepting. The whole being lost in the wilderness vibe was kind of anti climatic. It was a good premise though. Troy Duran, as always is stellar. His female dramatic voice is not my favorite, but he is swoon worthy. Keira Stevens was very good all around. This would be a credit worthy listen if you having nothing better to listen to.

Just the genre I love!

Wow, this story was unique... that is crazy hard to come by these days. I loved it. Being deserted in Canada's great wilderness is no dream of mine but Holden made it seem easy. Berkley was amazingly strong. If I was in that position, let's just say Holden would have another wild animal on his hands! They had an instant attraction with an infant way of understanding and just getting each other.

Troy Duran and Keira Stevens were perfect for the story. I pictured a strong man in Holden's position and Duran's voice fit perfectly. This is one situation where smooth talking SebYo wouldn't have worked! Stevens was amazing as well. She was able to border on absolute adoration and pure panic just like I think the character was feeling it.

Great listen

I was not sure what to expect when I started reading this book. I really enjoyed these characters. I love Harloe and her style that she writes, being that this was a little different is what threw me off. The stoyline and characters are great.
Good easy listen!

Plenty of Drama, Romance, Adventure and Sexiness!

I love that the conflict for this story exists outside of any personal anger or disagreement between the main characters for the most part. That they work together against seemingly insurmountable odds and fall in love at the same time is a great combination for me. Harloe Rae knows how to get to the heart of things right away so that readers/listeners are drawn in immediately, rooting for the leads, anxious to see where the story goes. She sets her scenes very well and her supporting characters complement the plot very well. I love when I enjoy the entire fabric of a novel, down to the characters with smallest parts, good guys and bad guys. Having Troy Duran and Keira Stevens bring everything to life with their voices is the icing on the cake! They create the perfect mood and my emotional investment in the story and characters increased exponentially compared to if I just read the story on my own. They are both awesome, and Troy is and always will be my favorite narrator!

Narration can make or break it

I couldn't listen past chapter 10 so I'm not reviewing the story - just narrators.

Male narrator is properly cast but the female narrator sounds way too young and has no sex appeal. She is a competent narrator but wrong for this character. I'll read the rest of the book on KU.

Love Blakely and Holder

Blakley and Holder have to survive the snowy wilderness and dangerous terrain. The attraction is intense and mutual. What will happen when they get back to the real world? Great characters and storyline. Highly recommended. The narrators were amazing. Troy was a perfect growly Holder and Keira was a sweet Blakley.
