About this listen

A new person will enter your life in the early year, Leo. Look past any moments of frustration they might bring and laugh - this could be the start of a thriving friendship.

Theo Wallace usually laughs at the horoscopes his mom sends. Still hung up on his ex-girlfriend and practically friendless, this one begs him to reconsider. Because a friendship that stuck, that thrived...well, that would be a reason to leave past pains behind and look to the bright future.

When his sister Leone challenges him to find her the perfect date for a spring wedding, Theo uses it as a chance to make new friends. Theo's ex-economics tutor and newest roommate, Mr. Jamie Cooper, seems to be a possible and convenient match. Real convenient. Like written in the stars, convenient. All he has to do is make sure this Jamie is good enough. Could really be "The One" for her and the friend for him. But watch out, Leo, the stars have a surprise in store....

Contains mature themes.

A funny witty book finally out in audio!

This is the first time I have listened to this narrator and I think he did a pretty good job with Jamie, Leo and Leona. some of the side characters had an annoying, nasally voice that I did not like as much but it did not bother me too much.

Anyta writs unique intricate stories were words are colors she uses to draw beautifully with. I love these kind of artistry with language, and I felt the connections between the characters were so deep and interesting because of the way the were written. Leo's use of "phrase of the day" tells so much about his emotions and also about who he is as a man. I love his strong connection to his sister and how independent she is. It is always nice to see a strong female character, and one with a disability as well.
The slow burn is bout tantalizing and frustrating, but the bond between both men is so interesting. I love the slow buildup of the friendship and the quirky banter they share. This is a funny sweet book that hides deep emotions and I feel like this is it's magic.

Good story, terrible narration

The story itself is cute but the way the narrator read the story was laughable. The voices the narrator used for each character were awful. The sweet moments between the two characters were ruined because of how it was read. Do yourself a favor and just stick to reading the book and skip the audible.

Good story. Good narration.

This was a warm fuzzy M/M romance.

The characters are wonderful, and the plot was kinda adorable. This was a much needed break from a stressful year. The narrator was good, and I am already listening to the second book in this series.

Clueless

The cluelessness got boring really quickly. We were halfway through and theo was still oblivious so I gave up. I only finished because I got bored and figured I could play it in the background as white noise pretty much. Luckily he was clued in not long after I resumed listening so I tuned back in and liked the rest for the most part. The way they were friendly with their exes was so weird because they didn’t deserve it.

Great book with poor narration

I loved the story of the oblivious Lei and his amazing Aries. This friend's to lovers worked so well for me. I am so disappointed at the narration. Theo and Leone sound fine. Every other character, including the lovely Jamie, sound nasal, old, oddly cadence, ridiculous, etc.

Enjoyable

I enjoyed the book when reading it. As an audible it came alive in a different way bringing a new dynamic and dimension to it.

Theo had me laughing and the narrator does a good job at giving us this lazy Leo at his best.

Fun friends to lovers

This was really FUN! Anyta Sunday has given us a great story filled with real people and no caricatures. There is a lot of sexual tension and snarkiness and in the end we get a very HEA. (The steam is low in this, so you’ll appreciate the author’s “sequel” Leo Tops Aries!)

I loved the progression from “straight” to “explore” and thought the humor was the selling point in this romance.

Highly recommended!

Audio

Rudy Sanda is a new-ish narrator and I really enjoyed his take on this humor-filled story. Some of his characters were a bit over-done and his voice for some sounded a bit old for their characters. He does a great job with keeping characters distinct and handles all the timing well. It was a good way to enjoy this story.

So stinking cute

This book is a double romance and I'm loving it. I won the ebook to this in a Goodreads giveaway and i was looking forward to reading it then I found the audiobook in Audible Escape and lost it. Audio was a convenient way to totally submerge while reading and listening. Yes please.

the narrator kinda ruined this for me

I wish audible had a feature that let you modulate the pitch somehow. I tried to listen to this a 1.5 speed to negate the terrible narration, but alas, that just made it fast and terrible.

Nails on a chalkboard

This was a new to me author and “”narrator “”.
I really wanted to like this book but it just didn’t give me any kind of satisfaction. The the difference between a Narrator and a book reader can make a big difference. Very dull. Very slow book. Not a great story line.
