About this listen

In the darkness, you can't always trust the light....

A year has passed since the cataclysmic impact of asteroid AG5. Whilst Earth's survivors struggle against a devastating winter, the world's finest assemble on the International Space Station for a covert mission that could change the course of civilization.

Back in the US, former director general Steiner is due to stand trial for masterminding heinous acts of terror. As calls for the death penalty gain momentum, those that sit in judgment are unaware that Steiner holds the key to the survival of the entire human race.

Meanwhile, marooned in separate locations within the colossal underground realm known as "Sanctuary", Sarah Morgan and Richard Goodwin are fighting for their lives to reach the surface. Unbeknownst to them, their shared purpose is about to awaken a terrifying denizen of the deep....

Binge worthy!

Excellent story! I am on book 3 in the series of 6 and can't put it down. I purchased both Kindle and Audible versions.
Would love to see this made into a motion picture!

Incredible!

I’m halfway through this FANTASTIC series! All I can say is this story is epic, drawing sci-fi and adventures into a whole new realm. Perfect narration weaves this incredible “Storey” together high adventure and action. You will likely lose some sleep because the action is relentless. It 1:50 AM and I’m going to start Genesis , book 3. Good times!

This book took the heart from the series.

I enjoyed the first two books immensely. The reading and the writing were interesting and had a subtlety that this book lost. The villains became one dimensional. The heroes developed fatal flaws and the support characters turned to illogical dolts. It seemed like this was written by a different author. The narrator spent half the book spitting out lines or screaming. I’m done with the series.

Give up on this series after book 3. Regret the time I invested.

Super disappointing to say, but I’m definitely giving up on the series. The last third or so of this book was painful to listen to.

The problem for me is that there are so many good and interesting elements to the storyline, but as you move forward there are more and more things that just don’t make sense and are forced into the mix, alternating with endless detail of fight scenes and mystical Cave journeys which have absolutely nothing to do with any long-term plot or character development or anything.

Feels like a book written by committee, or almost a “trolling” effort to throw as many genres as possible into one “epic” storyline.

is this a Science Fiction story? Archaeological mystery? Military story? Space adventure? Religious epic? Is it a character driven story? Are there any characters you can fall in love with and cheer for? (Not really) Are there any characters you can have fun hating because of how they’re written? (No - the bad guys are too in the face and almost stupid in their maniacal “badness”)

If I was the editor of this series, I would’ve forced the author to pick two or three main themes and weave them together in an exciting 3 to 4 book tale. instead of incorporating every genre in the universe into an endless spray.
