Good all around, thorough, understandable

Previously, I read some summaries in standard business and accounting texts about LLCs, and I tried to take a short-cut to deeper understanding by listening to some shorter audiobooks. But at last I settled back and listened through this, and that is where real working expertise happens. I think the author's style is tip top -- as it goes along, she thinks of real-world things you ought to be aware of and consider, and brings them up in a very aware way, in simple terms. The timing in this is flawless. That means there was really thoughtful and deliberate work, putting this together. It was not hastily done. This is well worth my investment of time. Now I am going to consider myself seriously a functional expert on this.

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent book

Slow at times, picked up in other parts, jam packed in yet other parts. I honestly feel like I learned something. I’ve set up an LLC but as yet taken no action on actually doing any business transactions. It haunts me, this awareness that I have something of value represented by this LLC, a new animal for me (truck driver currently, welder formerly with a focus in oil refineries). But prior to bulldozing forward, I wanted to understand what an LLC is and its various facets. Therefore, I’ve initiated a process of inundating myself with information, listening all day in my truck, often letting books continue at night on low volume, thinking (whether correctly or incorrectly) that at some level, the information would sink into my subconscious, leading to a quicker grasp and greater understanding of the material. Now I don’t know if this is actually correct or not, but what I do know is that I’ve woken up or more than one occasion with my Bluetooth speaker still playing, having been incorporating the material into my dreams. I see this as a good sign. The mind maps information and I have to believe that I am assisting this process by listening and re-listening to these books with an extreme desire to learn and understand and to effectively implement what I’ve learned. The more books I listen to/read, the more connections I make, forming an expanding loop that feeds itself. I desire self-employment like I desire air. My parents were self-employed. I grew up in a household where this reality surrounded me, permeated my reality. Yet, I wound up working for a living, always for someone else. Nothing wrong with it, but I want to try my hand at what I see as an avenue of untapped potential in my life. I’m approaching 60 (3 years away), and I know full well that if it’s ever going to happen, it needs to happen soon. Audible has been in invaluable source of applicable information (books on starting a business, entrepreneurship, etc.). I will break 400 hours this month on the Audible monthly timer, 392 hours last month, 260 hours the 2 months prior (yes, just what I typed, I don’t know how that happened), etc. I’ve given up TV, and every other sort of distraction to focus, learn, to cast the net far and wide in opening myself to information with a fiery dream to work for myself and to build a business that is something that was actually worth doing, not just another Amazon seller. “A work that was worthy of my lifetime,” my mantra. I can recommend this book. I’ve already re-listened to it several times and I’m sure I will again. My biggest area of interest was in operating agreements. I even found a book on Amazon that goes into operating agreements line by line and written by an attorney (Nolo Press?). I’ve discovered the, “For Dummies” series and I find it to be amazingly useful in introducing me to concepts I’ve not ventured into before, like a trail of breadcrumbs, introduces, explains, gives me a point of reference, a springboard, from which to search on Amazon books for still further information. Knowledge is the beginning source of all ventures/endeavors and the more information you have, the more bold and sure your choices and moves. Audible is a blessing and something I can honestly recommend. It’s just unfortunate that I didn’t start this process of self-education long ago. I’ve always read books, but not like this, with the focus and power of the space shuttle at takeoff. Self-employment, my own business, a startup, I guess you could say I have a dream; and with a clock ticking over my head (almost 60 years old now). I encourage you to never give up on your dreams.

A very good book, chock full of information, sometimes slow (like spoon-feeding in the beginning), an overview of the maze, a picture, emerges as she interlocks all the pieces together. An excellent introduction to LLC’s.

Great Resource and Comprehensive Review of LLC'S

Loved the book, covers everything LLC but a Table of Contents linked to audio with Chapter Headers and subsection/topic outlines is severely needed to navigate around the book and review different sections as needed.

Outline Needed

Great book with useful information, but rather than simply listing chapters 1-24, in the app's "chapter" feature, an outline--similar to the book's table of contents--should have been provided. M&A For Dummies has the aforedescribed feature.

Deep info, but better as a reference text than as an audiobook

This book contains much more detailed info about LLCs than the other two audiobooks I’ve listened to on this subject. The downside? It’s actually *too* detailed to be absorbed as an audiobook. It would be better as a text reference so that you could easily skip irrelevant info and apply only the section(s) you need.

Missing resources!

None of the links/websites referenced throughout the book exist. The book itself was very informative but you’ll be disappointed if you’re looking for the additional resources.
