Publisher's summary

What is "the one great thing to love on earth", according to J. R. R. Tolkien, the author of The Lord of the Rings? The Eucharist! Tolkien made sure his one great love was woven throughout his books. It's easy to find if you know where to look. In Smith's new book, find Tolkien's hidden Eucharist!

The Lord of the Rings can't be fully understood without understanding its hidden Eucharistic significance. What's more, perhaps: J. R. R. Wow!

I found this book on accident, looking for other things.

It wasn't what I wanted. . . until I saw the title and realized that between my Catholic faith and inordinate love for J.R.R Tolkien, this was perfect.

The book far exceeded my hopes, so I bought 4 copies to give a gifts.

Amazing! You shall not pass!

This is an utterly new insight into Tolkien's writings. This book will give you a completely new reason to love Lord of the Rings. If you're a fan of Tolkien, you NEED to read this. The narrator, Kevin O'Brien, did a fantastic job, as well - he's perfect for this book. The insights in this book will completely blow your mind and unveil the inner-workings of Middle Earth. You'll be asking yourself, why haven't I ever heard these insights before? The comparisons between the history of Gondor and the history of Israel, Isildur and David, Sauron and Goliath - all epic. "You shall not pass" ... on this book!

loved it!

I am not a tolkin reader but my husband is so I have watched the movies and listened to my husbands descriptions. I enjoyed how Scott showed where tolkin consciencely or unconsciously put the symbolism together.

A book of Faith and Simplicity

I find this Book filled with Faith and Simplicity In the Holy Eucharist, Scott truly highlights Tolkien's deep love for The Blessed sacrament. The Blessed Sacrament is at the heart of Tolkien's vision. Would highly recommend You pick up this book.

Interesting correlation

Presented well, the author provides a thought provoking correlation of Tolkien’s writings to key aspects of biblical scripture.
