About this listen
She left her whole world behind to find the one thing that really matters.
Jane Mitchell has many dreams for her life, but living in the 17th century was never one of them. Unknowingly transported through time by the meddling witch Morna, Jane chooses to stay in the past so she can remain in her beloved nephew's life. Castle life doesn't really suit her, and Jane quickly finds that her love for her family isn't enough to fill her hungry soul. Eager for purpose, she takes work at the village inn. One frigid evening, she takes in the most infuriating man she's ever met - never suspecting for a moment that he could be the one her soul hungers for.
Adwen MacChristy doesn't want to be laird of Cagair Castle. With a youth spent traveling the world and sleeping beneath the stars in the company of loose women, nothing weighs on Adwen's heart like knowing the life he loves is about to come to an end. He would rather spend his days as a penniless wanderer than take on the responsibilities handed to him by his father. On his last night of freedom, Adwen stops at the inn near McMillan Castle and meets the only lass to ever deny his advances, bewitching him in an instant. Suddenly, he finds himself believing that responsibility might not mean a life spent in chains if he has a fiery lass like Jane by his side.
Will Jane allow herself to fall for a man who is the very embodiment of the reckless life she left behind, or will fate make the decision for her when it sends her through time once again?

An Irish mobster. A missing friend. Two loyalties, ripping me apart. I had a plan. Get in, get my information, and get out. Easy, right? Turns out, infiltrating the Irish mafia isn't exactly what I thought it would be. I just wanted a soldier. Someone I could flirt with to get me in the door. That's when Lachlan Crow noticed me. Problem was, he wasn't a soldier. No, he was next in line for the throne of the Irish underworld. And he was determined to hate me from the outset.

Great Story
Would you consider the audio edition of Love Beyond Compare to be better than the print version?
I haven't read this book but I've been given the opportunity to listen and review it. . Lily Collingwood does a wonderful job narrating it and doing the Scottish accents.
Have you listened to any of Lily Collingwood’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Lily Collingwood has narrated the previous books in this series and has done a wonderful job on all of them.
Any additional comments?
I really enjoy Bethany Claire's books in this series. I like being able to see how the other characters from previous books are doing. In this book, there is a different and interesting way that the characters have found to travel to the present time. Bethany Claire's writing just keeps getting better. I can't wait for the next book to be out in audio.

What a book!
This next installment in Morna's legacy is chuck full of Scottish hotties! Jane is a more "experienced" women then the others in the previous books, which makes for several intense scenes. Cooper is adorable and his ability to make anyone his best friend is the sweetest. Though it ends on a bit of a sad note, it makes you ready for the next book to come out!

Five Star!
Love Beyond Compare by Bethany Claire is a book that you can easily fall in love with. The narration gives the book life and makes you want to keep listening. I first read the book and then was given the opportunity to listen to the audio version. I thought the book was great but the audio version makes the book outstanding. I love Jane's story and with each book I feel like we continue to get to know the past characters. This is a fun and quick read that is worth the money. You won't be disappointed.

Can't get enough of this brilliant series!!!!
What made the experience of listening to Love Beyond Compare the most enjoyable?
I'm loving how well Lily Collingwood does the different voices she does such a good job its made it very enjoyable to listen to the audible versions of the books, as before listening to this series on audible I had never listened to one being narrated by someone else.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I quite enjoyed the character of Adwen and how determined he is to stay single and not take on the responsiblity of being Laird of Cagair Castle, but then once he meets Jane it all changes but she wants nothing to do with him.
Which character – as performed by Lily Collingwood – was your favorite?
once again Adwen was my favourite
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
no idea lol
Any additional comments?
I am thoroughly enjoying the audible version of this series and can't wait to get to the next in this brilliant series. I received a copy of this audiobook from the publisher in exchange for my fair and honest review..

The Best One Yet!
Recommendation:
Yes! As this is now book 5 in the series, you should read the ones before to understand, at the very least, read Love Beyond Measure and In Due Time to see how Jane ended up in the past.
Grace’s sister (from book 4) Jane, is teleported to the past by Morna who in all her wisdom, must know something Jane doesn’t. Morna often takes the choice for that first leap out of those she helps hands, but Jane is not as thrilled as the others. She is bored, restless, and having dreams of sexy highlanders that keep her up all night. Cooper is the reason Jane stays, but he’s quickly becoming not enough. She misses her city, needs companionship, and a purpose. Luckily, it’s not just Morna who is looking out for her.
As with the rest of the series, there’s some prescription with Love Beyond Compare. Woman finds the man; man woos the woman, they sleep together, then marriage. Or is there? Jane is the unwilling romantic. She wants a man who can commit, she’s not about being used for her body and then being set aside, but she also wants Adwen. Adwen is the definition of a ladies man, use them, flatter them, and then boot them out of his bedchamber. Jane’s not that kind of gal.
Their chemistry and comedic banter are perfect and is balanced by Cooper’s quick wit, and some of the most heart-wrenching loss I’ve read in this series so far. Love Beyond Compare is beyond compare, Bethany Claire’s most impressive novel yet!
Audiobook Review:
Lily Collingwood is, as always, enjoyable to hear. The book was 8 hours and fit perfectly during a flight to the east coast. As usual, the recording quality was excellent with no hum or distortion and made the entire focus on the story.

A Rocky Road to Happily Ever After
Where does Love Beyond Compare rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Up near the top along with all the other Bethany Claire Storeis
Who was your favorite character and why?
Young Cooper - he is a 36 year old in a 6 year old body. He has a way of saying everything you might be thinking and explaining what you didn't even think you needed to know
Which character – as performed by Lily Collingwood – was your favorite?
Lily Collingwood brings the characters to life. Even though I have read the book and knew the story she adds a whole new level to the story
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The Road to True Love is a Rocky Path
Any additional comments?
This book contains some sad and heartbreaking paths to get to the final Happily Ever after.. More than one event had me crying. But it was worth listening to just to get to the part when the 2 highlanders travel to the present and see all the things we take for granted.

This Novel will make you Happy..It's Great!
Any additional comments?
Love Beyond Compare is Book 5 in the wonderful Scottish time travel romance series "Morna's Legacy", set mainly in the 17th century Scottish Highlands.
The Heroine, Jane Mitchell, is Cooper's aunt and Grace Mitchells' sister. She did not come to the past willingly but got caught up in the witch Morna's machinations (in book 4). But now that she's here, she's not leaving her family. But there's one little problem. She's BORED! Castle life is not for her. She's used to working, so she gets a job in the village at the local inn as a cook. There's only one little problem with this...Jane can't cook! Total hilarity ensues.
Enter our Hero Adwen MacChristy. A rake, a wanderer and a rogue, it's time for him to settle down and take up his responsibilities as Laird of Cagair Castle, even though the mantle of responsiblity weighs heavy on him. He was supposed to meet Jane at a special dinner but she was a " no show". Instead, she is working at the inn, and he meets her at the inn, while she is not at her best. Nevertheless, he is enchanted.
This book is a romance in a different vein than the previous 4 books. The H/h develop their relationship without having to a) solve a murder, b) fight an evil witch, or...well you get the idea. They deal with with emotional problems and situations unique to forging a real relationship with a strong 21st century American woman and a strong 17th century Scottish male. The romance is strong and the humor is terrific!
Lily Collingwoods' narration is the icing on the cake to bring these characters to life. She is absolutely terrific.
Have fun listening to this book, I know I did!

Loved it even more as an audible book
Truly enjoyed it better on audible than I did when I read the book. The narrator brings the characters to life much clearer than my imagination as I read. Each book is better than the last. I love the introduction of new characters and their stories while keeping some characters from the others books.
If the next book is available as an audible book I'm downloading it after I finish this review. If not I'll read the next book in the series again.
