Publisher's summary

Sarrinah and David are both flawed and suffering but so in need of each other. If only they can get over the tragedies of their past that are weighing them down...and the fact that one of them is a ghost.

Five years after losing the love of his life, David stuns the world with an announcement that he is quitting: He will no longer continue creating his beautiful sculptures. For years now, he has ignored his guilt by laboring at a frenetic pace, but his work can no longer keep his unhappiness at bay. The time has come for healing - if he can - and he thinks an isolated 150-year-old mansion in the country is just the place to start.

He moves to the grand old house with high hopes, but when he hears a disembodied feminine voice speaking to him, he begins to seriously worry about his mental state...especially since he feels an undeniable attraction to her.

When David wakes her with his invasion of her home, Sarrinah does not at first understand she is a ghost. When her true nature becomes obvious to her - as well as the details of her tragic death - she fills her days with weeping over her miserable fate.

Startled that David seems to be able to hear her, she begins conversing with him in the hopes of convincing him to leave her house so that she can return to the mindless oblivion she achieves when no life force is nearby.

As the months pass and their conversations progress, she realizes two things: that David is becoming more and more distressed by his worries for his own sanity and that she has fallen in love with the dear man and no longer wants him to leave.

This sweet romance is part contemporary/part historical romance, spiced with a dash of humor and a love of food.

Outstanding story!

David just bought a home built in the late 1800's as a place to relax, find his focus and help him get over the loss of his wife, Casey. They lost a baby and couldn't talk about it, so Casey walked out and never looked back. Sarinnah is trapped in the beautiful old home, but for other reasons. She is a ghost who, in the natural world, supposedly took her own life and is fated to spend her days and nights in a form of purgatory, constantly wandering the house. She and David strike up a friendship that soon becomes more, but how can a human be in love with a ghost. This is a multi-layered story that is perfectly written by this author. It gives an emotional punch that had me anxious, then fearful, but ultimately had me crying very happy tears! The narration is beautifully done by the author, Davyne DeSye. Her dynamic voice, great inflection and perfect pace bring each character to life!

Love This!

This story took me by surprise as to how much I loved it and how the story unfolded. I love the main characters. There was witty comebacks, jokes and beautiful people. Unfortunately, there was hard topics in this that could trigger some. Loss of baby. Well done Davyne DeSye on your story as well as your narration.

An entertaining story, brought to life by quality

An entertaining story, brought to life by quality narration. There was one element of this book (not the narration) that bothered me enough that I did not rate it higher.
