He found her at her worst, can she love him at his?

Eva Arnsby can’t stay indoors, her need to draw the woodland creatures around her home near Lead, South Dakota gets her in a heap of trouble. And none more troublesome than a shadowy stranger who steals her notebook and her spirit.

Ranger, Captain George Roth, is suspicious when he finds a small woman in man’s trousers sneaking around in the woods. Determined to discover the woman’s secrets, he takes on an assignment, ready to investigate her under the guise of a harmless town dandy.

A chameleon in a suit, Mr. George Roth is asking too many questions, and wearing too many masks. Despite Eva’s reluctance, they work together, and soon, she sees parts of George she can’t resist. Shouldn’t she follow her heart? But when the mask slips, and Eva realizes George isn’t who she thinks he is, the damage to her heart may never be mended.

One lie will break them apart, and George must convince her that the man she fell for in Lead is the same man who loved her in the woods.

It was a deceptively complex story

I loved the contrasts that went on in this story. I couldn't believe the amount of espionage that went on. Also, wow! I found the intriguing interactions between white folk and Indians. From the very boisterous and heart-pounding pace of the story of her twin sister, I loved Eva's gentle and quiet nature, how subtle this story turned out to be. I agree with Ruby when she said that she and George were perfect for one another. I appreciated George's strength of character, including upholding his principles even if he had to give up being something that defined him for 10 years. God definitely works in mysterious ways.

Sweet historical romance with great narration

Eva and George’s story pulled me right in. Love in a Lead is an engaging story with well-developed characters. As usual, Kari Trumbo wrote a good, solid, clean romance, and Meghan Kelly beautifully narrated it.

Follow the flower.

"This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review." I haven't read books 1 or 2, but I believe it would have been a good thing to do. This book is a stand alone, but there are references to the other books that I would have loved to know about. 'Love in Lead' is a good story, it's clean but still has romance in it. The plot involves Captain Roth investigating to see if Eva is helping the Indians. Their relationship is kind of tepid for a while, but of course love wins in the end.

Loved it!

This was a very satisfying, clean historical romance. The author generously gave me an audiocode for this recording and others! She's the best!

Love the audio

Love in Lead: Seven Brides in South Dakota Book 3 is by Kari Trumbo. This starts the fourth in the series about the seven sisters of the Arnsby family.
Hero is Roth. Heroine is Eve

This story shows no matter how innocent actions are , the people around you will take it out of content . And your actions will catch up to you . Eve is a painter she knows she has time before sisters wedding to go out and draw . That’s when her attention gets caught by her subject. She goes running off after the rabbit and that’s when something Roth finds her.
Roth’s mind right away thinks of something that he needs to investigate. That’s when one things leads to another .
Grab it and see a beautiful lobe story

Meghan Kelly did justice to this audio. Her voice was smooth, clear and strong. The emotions Meaghan showed was right for this story

Nice continuation of the series

This book was a bit different than the other two, it took awhile to get into it. Seemed like things couldn’t get moving within the story and things (ideas and events) repeated themselves. Although in my opinion this one wasn’t as good as book one and two; it was still a good book. (More like Harelquin romance books)
As for my preteen teen advanced reading friends I could recommend this to them. Because there was no language or sexual references.
Ms Megan did a good job at changing her voice to suit the situations

Really enjoyed this historical western

I love historical western romances and l wasn't disappointed in this story which I enjoyed as an audible. I loved that the heroine pushed back against social norms of the time. This added to the tension in the story as the hero was confused by the heroine's choices. Great story with a HEA.

Love in lead

Absolutely love Kari Trumbo and her series on the adventures of the Arnsby sisters. Narrator does an excellent performance. This audiobook book is an easy listen. A bit of romance not spicy at all. Would highly recommend
