About this listen

Originally published as Love Finds You in Sugarcreek, Ohio. Republished as Love's Journey in Sugarcreek: The Sugar Haus Inn (book one).

Policewoman Rachel Troyer has always looked after her three elderly Amish aunts, proprietors of a farmhouse inn near Sugarcreek, Ohio. The idyllic town is popular with tourists, who come to sample its famous Amish goods.

But one thing is clear to Rachel - Joe Matthews is no tourist. When the bearded stranger lands on her aunts' doorstep, begging shelter for himself and his young son, Rachel is suspicious. Will she be able to uncover Joe's secrets despite her aunts' - and her own - growing affection for him?

Great Amish / Englisher Story!

Very good story ... much better than the movie which in itself was good. I liked it so much I just downloaded book 2. Also, the narration was excellent.

Charming Amish Romance

Sweet unexpected romance. Secrets and mysteries are revealed layer by layer. Amish and Englisch characters blend well together. Widower Joe finds a haven with three Amish aunts to policewoman Rachel. The author does a good job of keeping the "bad guy" hidden till the end. Themes of family and forgiveness, the recognition of the value of each individual regardless of their challenges. I listened to a complimentary copy of the audiobook and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own. Leonor A. Woodworth did a great job narrating Rachel and Joe's story which made for an enjoyable listening experience.

The Sugar Haus Inn

I was troubled with the narrator with a very soft and uninteresting voice. I could not figure out who it was trying to be or just what it was going to portray. Could have found someone better I felt.
The story had good characters and I followed it to the end. Good plots within and just was not sure how it would end.
Do recommend for anyone that would be interested in the modern times of the Amish carrying on with the old Cultures. I am reading this not knowing if the Amish are really there in the state of Ohio today. Something is telling me they are.
HAVE TO ADD. I have gone online and there surely is this town. Had no idea, just thinking this was another story by the author. Very well done.

I watched this movie on Netflix first. Glad I did as it followed right along almost to the exact story. I tried to find the second book as there were mentions that the next two books were also movies and I would like to enjoy them also. Reading Book 2 now.

Wish others would write a review to compare my feelings. Nice to find another Author of the Amish.
For the Author, Serena Miller, This week I listened to "The Buggy Talk" PODCAST and this is how I found these new to me Amish stories made into films. It was Episode 18. with Tracy Fredrychowski. How do I find more Episodes and are they all by this Author or is each one different?
