About this listen

Gigi Bassano

Young. Beautiful. Idealistic. Proud. Gigi was raised outside the Andrade clan, but it has left her with an ache she cannot deny. When she's invited to her brothers' weddings, she refuses at first, then changes her mind and attends without telling anyone. She won't let herself love them, but she can't stay away. It's a recipe for disappointment and heartbreak...especially when she throws herself at her brother's best friend, Kane.

Kane Sander

Sexy, rich, loyal, protective. He shouldn't want her. But he will. He should stay away from her. But he won't. Love doesn't follow anyone's rules. Deny it. Run from it. Love always finds a way.

Great series

Would you consider the audio edition of Loving Gigi to be better than the print version?

I love the story line but the performance voice was not good.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Gigi, she had a rough start in life but made the best of what she had.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I love listening to audio books, the performance voice was nasally.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed and cried while listening to this book.

Good story

I have enjoyed this book as I have this series. Had I didn’t enjoy the series as much as I did, I would have not finished this book because the narrator was horrible for it!

Great story, horrible narration!

Loved the story. It was a great wrap up of the series. However, having Italian characters speak with a Southern accent and British speaking characters sound like cartoons really took away from the story. It was distracting.

Another Ruth Cardello success

I just love the Andrades!! Ruth doesn't disappoint with Gigi's story. There is such chemistry between Kane and Gigi! And I liked how the family was all brought together! This book keeps you interested from the very first! The narration was good! Very easy to listen to and didn't want to stop until I finished!

Good book with loving characters

Gigi was insecure with her place in the Andrade's family.
After coming to her brothers wedding and being swept off her feet by the handsome Kane, she faces her life with the hope to be able to fit and be accepted by them. Lovely story!!

Twice as enjoyable as reading....

Would you listen to Loving Gigi again? Why?

Yes. At times I have to put the book down and take a break. I love that audio books can be listened to with or without the book close at hand. Loving Gigi is one of my favorite stories. Ms. Rowan brought the perfect amount of innocence and sexuality by changing pitch.

What other book might you compare Loving Gigi to and why?

From This Moment On by Bella Andre. The couples were mismatched but they brought out the best in each other.

Which scene was your favorite?

Gigi and Kane's first meeting. The connection was obvious and the audio will leave you breathless.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Let your heart be your guide to something beautiful...

Any additional comments?

Ruth Cardello continues to create great characters. Adding audio and the right voice made Gigi and Kane come to life. Loving Gigi by Ruth Cardello became magical.

narrator is horrible

This was really painful to listen to. I was spoiled by the original narrator, who did a great job with accents and kept voices consistent throughout all the previous books. I will finish it but she certainly makes it less enjoyable.

Loving Gigi

Loving Gigi. I have read quite a few of Ruth Cardello books. They are quite good but almost in every single one a women in ordinary circumstances meets a billionaire is a variety of ways, and then the guy falls for the woman who in most cases is a working woman in various situations. It goes he spends most of the book convincing her he is worthy of her. I am getting a bit over some of these women, most act like spoiled brats. In this particular book Gigi acts like this, no guy would put up with the way she and women in the other books behave. The are given so much lives of luxury, helicopters, apartments and so on but the men still have to beg to be accepted until the end. Some have a bit more interest in them but others I skip on a bit particularly the sex scenes which are very repetitive.

Not a fan of this narrator 😕

If I buy any more of this series, it will be in book form. It is easier to skip ahead that way....the narrator was awful! All the women sounded like bubble headed bimbos, and while some of the men's voices were ok, The voice of Alessandro resembled a cartoon character. I would much rather have someone just straight up read from the book than be irritated by the voices.
