Lucian Marcello is aware of the expectations following him as the oldest son of one of North America's most infamous Cosa Nostra Dons. Family in his world is more than blood and sharing a last name. It's the honor, respect, business, and the life. Being a Capo is just a stepping stone until it's time for him to take on the role of underboss but a chance meeting with her could be the one thing he'd risk it all for.
She is exactly what he didn't know he was looking for.
Jordyn Reese spends her time trying to stay under the radar of a man who wouldn't think twice about killing her. Unwillingly affiliated with a dangerous MC gang, her life is dominated by the men surrounding her and her future rests solely in how useful she can be for them. The last thing she needs is some Mafioso gaining her more unwanted attention from the club.
He is everything she should stay away from but can't.
Notoriously violent when it comes to getting what he wants, Lucian will stop at nothing to make the target on Jordyn's back disappear. But sometimes the worst threats are the ones you can't see until it's too late. The truth behind Lucian's history is about to take center stage in more ways than one, and it'll either save him or kill him.
This world leaves everyone a little filthy.

Did John Thrust do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
He has an extremely deep voice so differentiating between the male and female character was harder to tell. I'd have preferred if there was a women doing the female character.Any additional comments?
All the books I've read by Bethany are, in my opinion, amazing. They're well written and she does good research so what she writes doesn't seem fake or extreme. One of my favorite mafia romances

Nine times out of 10 I know I’m reading a really good book that I truly enjoy in all aspects is when I cannot stop thinking about it and would do absolutely anything to continue to read the book throughout my day. I did this on many occasions while I was at work. Mind you I was listening to the audiobook version of this, I for sure should not have been reading this at work considering the crude language and very sexual content that is not work appropriate 🤷🏻♀️
The description in this book is absolutely phenomenal. Most of the time I loath very descriptive book with unnecessary information. Most of the time authors tend to drag out something that can be explained in so few words. Bethany Kris on the other hand uses these elaborate explanations that really tell the story and you get a vivid picture of what’s actually going on in your head while you’re reading. When an author can do that for me I know this is an excellent book. This book is filled with lust, hate, murder, deception and tons of hot and steamy sex. Lucian and Jordyn, our two main characters, both come from rough pasts and both are knocked on their asses when they meet each other.
Lucian is brought into the Marcello family as a young boy and fits right into the family like he was born in it. He loves his family, his life and the family business. He is charming and mysterious. Jordyn is such a strong and resilient character. She takes no shit and will tell you where to go. These two are perfect for each other and they also balance each other. Overall I really enjoyed the storyline as well as both Lucian and Jordyn. Their story was somewhat insta-lovie and thought I’m not a fan of when authors do that, the love they had for each other truly felt genuine.
Strong ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 star read from me.

Where does Lucian rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is probably one of the best audibles that I've listened to so far. What other book might you compare Lucian to and why?
This was my first Mafia Romance book, so comparing it to other books that I've listened to is difficult, but this book did have the perfect narrator for this type of story.Which scene was your favorite?
When Jordyn tells off Kate at Lucian's mother's birthday party.Any additional comments?
John Thrust is an amazing narrator and I hope to listen to more of his books.A Mafia romance that is not to be missed

Would you consider the audio edition of Lucian to be better than the print version?
This was a case of listening to the book first. This was a great incentive to get the book. Just like a movie brings a book to life, so does the audio version of a book. We get to have a voice that we just wonder about tell us, in this case, his story. What was one of the most memorable moments of Lucian?
It was more than a moment but it was how protective Lucian was of Jordyn. What's more romantic than having the man you love try to protect you from things that only want to hurt you.Which character – as performed by John Thrust – was your favorite?
It would have to be Lucian. Even though we don't see the narrator on a screen, his voice is what brought the character of Lucian to life. Having an accent helped in understanding more of who this character was and where he came from. It also added a passion to a character that would have been totally different had I read the book instead. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I don't know if you could say that it moved me but it certainly had me wanting more. The ending has me on pins and needles waiting to see what the author will have in store for Giovanni Marcello and who will be the narrator. I see that his story isn't in audio form yet so I don't know how patient I will be because I don't know how long I can wait. This just means that in that particular case I may have to read the book first and then get the audio version.Any additional comments?
The book gives you some sense of how "violent" being in an MC or a mob family can be. It also shows that they have feelings like anyone else but how they go about protecting those they love is just a little different. Would I recommend this? Yes I would. If you're a fan of Bethany-Kris already then make sure to check this out. Maybe you're a lover of MC romance or Mafioso romance then you may want to add this to your library (be it in print or in audio form). Can't wait to listen to it again.
