Good, Not Great

The story was a little tough to get into as there were so many story lines running in parallel. In addition, it feels like none of this stories actually concluded. I know there's a sequel, but this story, despite having a logical end point, felt unfinished. The narrator did an excellent job distinguishing each voice with it's own signature sound, but his reading style bugged me at times as his voice went up at the end of every single sentence. So, in short, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't spectacular either.

Predictable

The narrator makes you want to change the story every few words. The tone is very monotonous.

Ok, nice time filler, worth a credit

Any additional comments?

The positives: The writing is nicely done, and the storyline nicely organized. Battle scenes are just ok.

The negatives: The storyline is predictable, the ending was a 50% cliff hangar(which is a pet peeve of mine), the narration is ok. So, the narrator doesn't help this book, but it doesn't hurt it terribly. He shows enough variation with the different characters to keep the story understandable. However, his tone is a little too monotone, so it does become annoying. I would recommend this book for young adult, but there is a bit of sex...which doesn't really add to the story, which is unfortunate, since it would have added some more readers.

I will probably get book 2 in hopes of actually seeing dragon/human interaction...and maybe a new narrator....or a team of narrators.

Terrible narration

The narrator reads with same monotonous rhythm, even during climaxes. Story is a typical coming of age boy with hidden powers.

Read it in stead.

The narrator is so bad I'm having trouble finishing. The story is pretty good. May order the paperback.

Lytic's Curse

A great book with a nice story line. I fell in love with Lyric from the start. The narrator could have been better though. His immitation of the female voices was not good at all.

The most painful reading of a book I have ever hea

Would you be willing to try another one of Erik Sandvold’s performances?

Only if there was a different narrator

Any additional comments?

I truly threatened to stop listening a hundred times. The narrator could not be worse.... so stiff and stilted. So lifeless. And the voices, ugh!
He must be a friend of the author ..... awful awful awful awful!
