Delightful!
Actually the first time I've heard Marion's voice. :) It was a delight. Sometimes in written interviews she comes off as a little abrupt but not here. Interesting to hear her inspirations and get to know her just a little bit. I don't want to look behind the curtain too much but a glimpse--why yes!

Wonderful interview a story in itself
I'm mesmerised by Beaton's Hamish Macbeth books read by Graeme Malcolm. It was a real treat listening to Marilyn Beaton share that each book is difficult to right because there's always the fear that she won't be able to do it. She said you have to work for your readers. Which really shows in her books.

love her books!
I adore M.C. Beatons stories. Her Agatha Raisin mysteries are addictive! She certainly knows how to captivate her audience. In listening to her stories, I am brought back to my own wonderful times on The Cotswolds and my find memories are cemented even deeper in my mind.

I love this author for many reasons.
It's nice to know that her characters echo her voice.
The word "escape" resonated in my whole being. She understands those of us who love her books. I have nearly every Hamish Macbeth book on Audible. Recently, they were my anchor to sanity.
I first learned the value of reading in 1974, when I was 11-years-old. My two older brothers had shot themselves the year before and I was struggling. I found a copy of "Harriet The Spy" that my older brother had given me. And my escape route was created.
Fast forward to November 2019 and I am riding in a car to view my son's body. I am thinking that I will start screaming any minute. OR, maybe I would just jump out of the vehicle. I was in bad shape. Then I put in my headphones and listened to the soothing, lilting voice of Graeme Malcolm and I began to calm. Honestly, I don't remember the book. I don't remember the story. Not that day. Within a few days I decided to go to the first book and listen to them all. Breath by breath, book by book, I am surviving. Even though they died. Even though life is bleak. Even though I want nothing to do with the holidays. I have the books in my Audible library. Fortunately, I also have more books to buy from M.C. Beaton.
(Thank you, Marion and Graeme.)

what was the point of this
what was the point of this, do not know, vanity or manufactured interest, my guess.
