Bed time reading

I loved it but……..there’re wasn’t really any entertainment I liked this book the first book but I have a felling the other books will be for entertaining

very relatable even to an oldie like me

"O MY LANTA"! Sorry, but that's a indigestion tablet thing you take for upset stomachs and such you can find it in the grocery store no prescription required. aside from that useless knowledge its also the saying DJ from FULL HOUSE used to say all the time whenever things like a cute boy would talk to her. basically, it means it takes you by surprise and you are probably speechless, or you simply have butterflies in your stomach because its the beginning of a crush you didn't even know you had until that very moment. ummm i just want to say that because i know this made me feel very old because FULL HOUSE is a show from the mid 80's to all over the 90's. So I am just thinking the author of this middle school aged book series must be as old as I am. HOWEVER I want to say that in no way means she has no idea what the world of middle school today is really like because I can actually relate to this book very much and even though I am old I think that the easy reading of this book and the type of things that happen in it are realistic even if they are exactly the way things might go specifically I would recommend this to any middle school student starting out. I want to say to middle school starters that fashion is not the most important thing of all. people notice, but who cares. be you and that's all that matters. and besides that the next day or soon after no one will remember what you did or didn't look like when you supposedly did something stupid in the fashion attempts. it's totally normal and natural to worry, be nervous, and be scared. kids aren't supposed to have all the answers in the world or else they would already be adults. but adults don't have all the answers either. just try and be your best. the purpose of the things happening in your life up until adulthood is to learn what not to do or what to do so that when you are an adult you will be a pro and be ok with the things that have happened or will happen. memories are exactly that; the past and only meant to be remembered because they cannot change. so even though you may hate or resent things you have done, try instead to laugh and say oh well and then look forward to whatever happens next. you never know.... if you stop hating or downing on yourself and just open your eyes the thing you thought would never happen might happen; for example your crush says hi or you got an A on your speech or you got the part in the play you wanted.
all right enough advice. allow me to explain why i say the things about this book i do. how do i relate? in 4th grade i moved in the middle of the school year. one week before my birthday i met with the teacher and my parents to get the rundown of what it was going to be like. for me this was important because i have social anxiety disorder and am slightly dyslexic. i felt special. but i am also add so i had no idea what was going on. the whole time i stared at the big blackboard trying to read the 4 or 5 words in the top corner. I had just gotten glasses in 3rd grade but was still not really able to read what the words were. I take great pride is loving to read and knowing how to spell. But if I don't know what the words are even my new glasses made it hard to know what they were. at the end of the meeting I asked and the top word I never forgot how to spell was spaghetti. here is a hint. say it like its spelled. spag- hetti. then you won't forget the hidden h. unfortunately those were the words from the week before and the teacher just hadn't written the new weeks words to learn yet. so ok i gave myself an A PLUS anyway.
I used to think because I read so much I must be also bound to become a writer. so yes I had a diary and yes i brought it to school with me. AND YES it was found and used the wrong way. I cant remember quite all the details, but i will try and tell the story anyway. I left it on my desk. i never go to recess because no one wants to play with me and i am not an outside active person. i hide in the library even during lunch. there was a book fair. I live for book fairs! so i was caught up in all the dreams of how many books i wanted on my wishlist so i could go home and not forget them all so i could ask mom and dad for bookfair money. there was never enough to get them all and i am terrible at decision making. so i arrived back to class late and my diary was opened and a girl named tina looked upset.
Tina was a shy quiet girl with red hair that i thought was cool because it reminded me of pippi longstocking. i made it a note in my diary that i would become her friend because not having any friends was something i assumed we had in common. the kids in the class took all of that completely wrong. they thought that i was making fun of her hair not knowing i liked pippi longstocking. those kids probably didn't even know the books existed and had only seen the movies. also i am an empath. i fix peoples problems before my own always. the kids thought that by stating how lonely she was that again i was making fun of her. but i wasn't. i didn't feel sorry for her so i could laugh at her. i felt bad because i understood her. when i said i wanted to be her friend they also sort of thought that meant i liked her. umm this was 4th grade. I barely even knew what they were taking about. i liked everyone and because i am hyperactive i also gave everyone a hug even though it drove my parents crazy trying to tell me that wasn't a normal thing for people to do. again, i wanted to scream and say "I'm a kid!" I had plenty of time to grow up and act the way the adults seemed to think i was supposed to be already. the diary also said i liked her last name and gave it a nickname(id tell you except what would happen if she found this review). the kids thought I was using that nickname to make fun of her last name and didn't actually like her at all. REDICULOUS! the truth was because i am dyslexic i have to come up with little nickname tricks to remember things so i don't ever get them wrong
ok i don't want to hang on the moment too much. so, I will just say that Tina and I did become friends. in middle school we went to the town library to work on a project we had together. we did ok i think, but it was probably me doing most of the work since the library is my safe space even today. and also for extra credit one time i used one of my many plays i wrote all the time in middle school and chose her for the main part and even though she was still shy i helped her get through it. but in that case i think we never ended up doing the play because i was basically pushing her to be something she wasn't. so ok we were never best friends, but we were friends. we usually chose each other for school projects. except that half of the time the teacher chose who was in what group and i either let people do the work and put my name on the paper or i did everything all by myself with extra credit because the teacher knew i wasn't good with people skills.
in 8th grade i was the prank and i fell for it. an episode of SAVED BY THE BELL created something i believed was for real called senior skip day. we were not seniors of course but in 8th grade you are the top of the school. somehow the kids convinced me it was for real even for 8th graders. so they dared me to join the crowd and skip school the last day of 8th grade. my reasoning was that i couldn't get detention when there wasnt an school days left to attend detention. but i was a scaredy cat of ever being actually bad. so i hid in the bathroom for as long as i could stand it and tried to feel proud. going back to class and seeing a bunch of 8th graders who obviously did not skip when they said they did made the real truth and laughs come out. as little as one of the other girls from FULL HOUSE would say "HOW RUDE!"
dear middle schoolers: if you can't get your locker open or can't remember your locker combo.... do what I did all 3 years of middle school. keep everything in a shoulder tote bag. it's like a crossbody or a really big purse. it really builds your muscles so if you need to stand up for yourself in a fight you might actually be surprised when you win. also, if you have a dad like me who thinks you aren't a girl without a purse then you can just shove the big tote bag in his face and say "this is my purse!" The reason i say this story is because there are also sometimes a cool boys group too somewhere during your school lifetime. not so much cool as stupid, but you know who they are. they are mean and all the cool girls want them to be their boyfriends. I made the mistake of leaving my bookbag in the room of my next class after lunch. that way i wouldn't have to take my bag with me to lunch and it could just already be there for me. unfortunately, everyone knew i did that. so the boys took my bag during lunch and hid it in an empty locker since i didn't use a locker anyway. it never occurred to me it would be in a locker. which locker. who specifically in the group did this. i was freaking out and crying and the boys were laughing. and something that will probably never happen to you but I will tell the story anyway is when my science teacher kept ferrets for class pets everyone knew i am an animal lover and my parents won't let me have a pet. somehow the ferrets got out and often ran loose during class as long as the main door was closed to the rest of the school. distraction much indeed. the kids in class deliberately snuck the ferrets into my bag and i almost made it out the door with them totally not knowing they were there. I had to state over and over to my teachers and my parents that was not me at all even though i kind of wished i had thought of it and gotten away with it. i was that dumb and that guiilable. that was 7th/8th grade.
in 5th grade both the boys and girls mean or whatever group tried to teach me the supposed cool thing to do by learning about the middle finger. they never told me what it meant. i doubt half of them really knew what it meant either. they dared me to flip a teacher off and i would be cool. so i did and i got in the most trouble at the point in my life i had ever been in. it hurt that the teacher and my parents didn't believe i didn't know what it meant.
and finally in middle school there was a mean girl just like Kathy. in fact so much so that whenever the narrator said the name i kept thinking they were really saying Cassie. She was of course the leader of the cool girls group. so in case you didn't know there is always a mean girls group or a cool girls group or a popular club or whatever you want to call it somewhere down the line of your entire education life. so accept and get used to it. just ignore them. talk back if you can, but its just asking for more trouble. my philosophy in life i didnt create until my adulthood is simple: " People are people. They're gonna do whatever they want." Can't change it so move on and forget about it.
Anyway this particular Cassie/Kathy got one of the girls to be nice to me just by saying hi or asking how i was doing and then inviting me to the rec center with the rest of the cool girls. I was on top of the world jumping to say yes! my grandmom who doesn't drive was babysitting me so she couldn't take me or bail me out if something bad happened. and yes something bad did happen. before the days of cell phones i rode my bike by myself and waited and waited and waited. They never showed up. In the dark now with my grandmom worried sick i rode my bike home with my head down low and never telling anyone about it.
see stuff like this happens all the time in middle school no matter what the year is. its ok. you are not alone. just accept and move on and forget about it. i truly hope you can. and please do read these book series. thanks for reading my review.

Ok but performance was not the best🫳

I loved the story, great for girls at this age. (8 to 12)
I would give the performance more if the voices were different and Chloe and Jasper’s accents were more convincing. over all great Job Katie + Tina

Brought Me Back to Jr. High

I really loved this audiobook. Very Original. it brought me back to similar things I had did at that age (40 years ago, lol).
