Garion, Belgarath, Polgara, and their companions face new challenges as they continue their quest to retrieve the stolen Orb before it can be delivered to the evil god Torak.

Garion's strange powers continue to grow, as he plays an increasingly crucial role in this world's future.

It would be sheer folly to try to conceal the true nature of Althalus, for his flaws are the stuff of legend. He is, as all men know, a thief, a liar, an occasional murderer, an outrageous braggart, and a man devoid of even the slightest hint of honor. Yet of all the men in the world, it is Althalus, unrepentant rogue and scoundrel, who will become the champion of humanity in its desperate struggle against the forces of an ancient god determined to return the universe to nothingness.

Tuck Underbank is a Warrow -- think a hobbit with shoes and "large jewel-like eyes" -- living in the peaceful Boskydells. When an unnaturally cold winter strikes and the evil Modru threatens the world, he and a number of his fellow Thornwalkers go to the High King's aid. But a vast expanse of lightless blizzard called the Dimmendark (sounds bad, doesn't it?) is spreading over the land, and Tuck soon finds that the "dark tide" is going to swamp them all.

Aram thinks he’s nothing but a misfit from a small fishing village in a dark corner of the world. As far as Aram knows, he has nothing, with hardly a possession to his name other than a desire to make friends and be accepted by those around him, which is something he’s never known. But Aram is more. Much, much more. Unknown to him, Aram bears within him a gift so old and rare that many people would kill him for it, and there are others who would twist him to use for their own sinister purposes.

More dangerous to the free people of the Land is the Gray Slayer, Lord Foul, the Despiser, who intends to destroy the actual foundations of the Earth that he might wage war against the universe’s creator.

So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. All in Voramis know the legend of the Hunter. Relentless. Immortal. Death walking. The greatest assassin who ever lived. Pay the master killer his due and the Hunter will execute any target, carry out any contract, no matter how impossible. But when the Bloody Hand crime syndicate harms the innocents under his protection, they foolishly make an enemy of the one man they can't afford to anger. The price of the Hunter's vengeance is high-paid in blood and eternal damnation. Not even an army of crooks, cutthroats, and demonic creatures of nightmare can stand in his way.

Fantastic voice acting
This book especially starts to feel like the narrator is getting very comfortable with all the characters idiosyncrasies and they come alive after that

Absolutely Incredible
Brian Wiggins was incredible and actually brought some of my all time favorite characters to life!!! I have been waiting years and years for a decent audio book of The Belgariad and Malloreon series, and this over delivers!!! I am patiently waiting the remaining books and will order them all. Please, please, please continue with the fantastic work. I cannot say enough about the amazing writing and world building of David Eddings, other than to commend the narrator for bringing this story to life!

The horrific narration of the beloved books, the Belgaraid
I absolutely cherish and love the entire series of the books known as The Belgaraid. I probably don’t even know the number of times I’ve read the series over the years, dozens and dozens to be sure. I have read them to my three young sons many times over the years, they would beg me to read them and as they got older we would choose what classical music to listen to quietly in the background. My sons are adults now and continue the tradition with their own families. Such fun and wonderful memories.
Having said all that I am disgusted for true at the narration of this new guy.
1. Why oh why does the voice of Belgarath sound like he’s is speaking in dying breaths?
2. Why does Polgara sound like an inexperienced teenage girl?
3. Why does Silk sound like the previous Ce’Nedra?
4. Why does Ce’Nedra sound like she’s talking twice as fast as everyone else?
5. Why does the narrator speak so fast?
What is a goreem?
What is malloreah?
When did Obama enter?

How bad the narration is
This book was ruined by the new narrator. I listen to this book a few years ago withCameron Bieles narrating, it was So much better. Very difficult to listen now with the new narrator ruining the characters
