About this listen

The unlikely hero of Fanwath prepares to take things to a whole new level in the action-packed sixth installment of this thrilling fantasy adventure.

When he was first torn from his Earthly home, Victor Sandoval was as good as dead, alone and powerless in a reality where kills equal skills and losing a fight means losing your life. But he's much more than who he used to be.

Now a warrior of near-legendary status and strength, Victor is leading his very own army into the Untamed Marches, where countless hordes of horrors await. This means more Energy and treasure for him and his allies when they go up against a slew of undead, reavers, and good old-fashioned bloody vampires.

And that's the fun part. Because Victor is about to face an opponent who already claims the Marches as his own: Prince Hector of Heart Rot. And while his name may seem silly to Victor, the prince's desire to slaughter him along with his entire army is about to become all too serious . . .

The sixth volume of the hit LitRPG adventure series—with more than 750,000 views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

Another awesome addition to the series

This is just another solid addition to the continuing story of Victor. I was glued the entire time and found myself wanting to binge listen just to find out what happens next. As always, Rob knocks the narration out of the park, doing distinct and powerful voice lines for all characters. I truly think this is one of the underrated hidden gems in the litRPG genre, and I'm grateful to have found it!

My Take

This is biased i am aware lol but for me since the start of this series it's only gotten better. The world building feels like we are experiencing it along side Victor.

This book is well worth the price/credit

Final Book for Me

Enjoyable tale, amazing lore and worlds. The main characters powers and strength setup and all is good. But I just can’t deal with the cringey teenage romance scenes. It also adds nothing to the story. I don’t feel invested in any of the romance. These characters are at times 100+ years old at times, yet they have the emotional intelligence and security as that of children. That might even be an insult to children. No bonds seem to be built or any true connections made. The main characters power is emotions and yet his emotions have no real depth to them. It’s been like this for the last 6 books and I’m just over it. My only other complaint about the story so far is power scaling. You didn’t make the main character OP and you didn’t make him weak, but you also didn’t make him normal to the worlds you’ve built. The scales of power are whack and make no sense at all. I wanted to hold on because the lore and world building are amazing but there is no depth to anything it’s all face value with no true emotion or drive behind anything.

Must read

Narration: Robb Moreira's performance is exemplary. Unique and distinguished voices for men and women. A level of depth to Victor's emotions that I've not heard in another audiobook. His performance was nuanced enough to hear the differences in Victor's voice based on his size. :Chef's Kiss:

This book was exciting. Adventure and battles that were fun. There were a few moments when I was just itching for the story to move on so I could see what happened next.

Most importantly, I think, is Plum's characterization of Victor. Victor is his own person, through and through. Even when you think it's obvious Victor should do something, Plum holds true to his character. The nature of Victor's thoughts when he is in his various states of mind are shown consistently.

Stellar as per Usual !

I have listened to and read hundreds of books and dozens of series and this incredible kick ass work is probably my favorite LitRPG / Fantasy series ever, it's close up there with the Hobbit & LOTR Series. From the MC progression to the supporting characters and their development, the storyline and the BBEG's and enemies, this is a universe that deserves at the least your listen/read if not it's own show or video game! 110% worth the credit if not the outright money, I know I'm singing it's praises left and right but it sincerely deserves all the kiss assery and then some. Can't want for the next in this series!
