Publisher's summary

From Manuka to Manhattan, Lauren’s going all the way!

Lauren is a curator at the National Aboriginal Gallery in Canberra. She's good at her job, passionate about the arts and focused on her work - that is, when she's not focusing on Adam.

But Adam is a player, on and off the field. Lauren knows he's the one, but he doesn't seem to feel the same way about her. If she just waits long enough, though, surely he'll realise how much he needs her?

Then her boss offers her the chance of a lifetime - a fellowship at the Smithsonian in New York. Lauren has to make some big decisions: the Man or Manhattan?

meh

I love the narrator. I like parts of the story, it was interesting to hear a story where the main character is from Australia. it was an interesting take on a fish out of water story. The romance part though was cringe. The ending was very obvious early on. I found myself getting bored w it towards the end.

If you love a strong female lead... she's not here

Boring, predictable, slow, largely uninteresting. Could have been so much more interesting without the internalized misogyny and fixation on a man who clearly didn't want her. Lauren is annoyingly insecure and neurotic. If you like strong, independent women... this is not the book for you. Glad it was free.

WTF

The actual story line was awful and so infuriating. The female lead was a complete let down and had absolutely no self respect. I absolutely found that unnecessary to the extent it was illustrated in this story. Not even worth the free read, complete waste of time.

Not worth the time

The main character, although, very intelligent, is a push over and whiny. Hard to listen to.

Oh Babycakes. That isn’t love.

Not going to be able to finish this. She reroutes her friend’s conversations that she doesn’t want to hear just like Adam does with her. Adam is clear he’s not interested in monogamy. She stays in denial & on the hook for way too long. Her friend is banging the truth into her skull and she keeps playing the injured puppy, coming back for more. I just don’t have the tolerance required for this much weakness & stupidity.

awful

the story was too descriptive on what she was working on and the arts. the lack of self worth from her part was astounding even at the end. Instead of reclaiming it, she let him use her again and she fell for it. The good friend she thought was gay was actually straight and was into her, and after one kiss she had fallen for him even though she had gone to that place to meet the other guy. Yea, this story is a let down as a woman and just kept shaking my head as the story progressed.

A woman wrote this?!

This sounds like a book for no self respect and stalking. I’m not sure who would find anything interesting about this book man or woman it was simply pathetic.
