Seventeen-year-old tagger Saira Elian can handle anything.…

A mother who mysteriously disappears, a stranger who stalks her around London, and even the noble English grandmother who kicked Saira and her mother out of the family. But when an old graffiti tag in a Tube station transports Saira to the 19th century and she comes face-to-face with Jack the Ripper, she realizes she needs help after all.

Saira meets Archer, a mysterious university student who helps her blend in as much as a tall, modern American teen can in Victorian England. He reveals the existence of the Immortals: Time, Fate, Nature, War, and Death, and explains to Saira that it is possible to move between centuries – if you are a Descendant of Time.

Saira finds unexpected friendships at a school for Immortal Descendants and a complicated love with a young man from the past. But time is running out for her mother, and to save her, Saira must embrace her new identity as she hides from Archer a devastating secret about his future that may cost him his life.

Great Amalgamation!

This story is an amalgamation of some of my favorite tropes. This has (a unique method of) time travel, people with a variety of magical abilities, historical/romantical fiction, first love, forbidden love, and (one of my favorites) found family! There were more amazing aspects to this (audio)book but the narrator was one such element that was crucial (in my eyes) to bringing this all together. She breathed life into each and every character and gave them distinct voices. I loved (and loathed) each character... even the secondary and tertiary ones too!!

Overall:
I got lost in this audiobook completely like I haven't done in quite a while. I'm a sucker for a good Time Travel (and Jack The Ripper) yarn with characters that make you FEEL something and this is such a tale. Hearing Ringo's viewpoint in the end was an awesome little treat that I didn't realize I wanted until it was over... what a great addition!! All in all, I'm needing more sooo I'm off to purchase (audio)book #2!!

~ Enjoy
